In the same manner that world power began to be transferred out of the middle-East to Europe 1000 years ago, and to North America 500 years later, once again an age of Ecclesiastic Freemasonry's Phoenix is coming to an end.
The Age of America will end as their economic money power is being outsourced to Asia and political control is being moved to Canada, (happening now, prior to the destruction of California and THE COMING FLOOD).
Americans think that it all so unfair and blame their current politicians.
Yet, few among these citizens will even stop long enough to consider that these elected politicians were also frontal lobotomized in the same manner that they also were; that is also in the same manner that they themselves are also inflicting upon their own children today, by sending them off to the great school of fish.
Have you not seen how a whole school of fish acts all to-get-her as one? That's what happens once you've been schooled.

TIROL : Part of the mountainous Alpine region of Europe, the Tirol consists of much of the western part of Austria and an Italian territory known as Trentino-Alto Adige.
Tirol occupies a total area of about 10,000 square miles (25,900 square kilometers). It is ridged with hills and valleys and is surrounded by higher mountain ranges.
In the east the Tirol is bounded by the Hohe Tauern range, with the Grossglockner towering 12,457 feet (3,797 meters). The Bavarian Alps of Germany are to the north. On the west the Ortler group soars to almost 12,800 feet (3,900 meters). In the south the Italian Dolomites rise to more than 10,900 feet (3,300 meters).
The Tirol is one of the most picturesque mountain regions in the world. It has therefore developed a large tourist trade. It has become noted for its winter sports activities, especially skiing. The winter Olympics of 1956 were held at Cortina d'Ampezzo on the southern edge of the Italian Tirol, and they took place at Innsbruck, Austria, in 1964 and 1976.
The Austrian part of the region is known as Tirol Province. It incorporates North Tirol and the portion of East Tirol that lies east of northern Italy. The area of the Austrian Tirol is 4,883 square miles (12,647 square kilometers). The capital of the provin
ce and the largest city of North Tirol is Innsbruck. Lienz is the principal city of East Tirol.
In the Austrian and Italian Tirol the main economic activities are forestry, livestock raising, and dairy farming. Since 1945 hydroelectric, aluminum, automobile, chemical, and steel plants have been erected.
The usual route from the Austrian to the Italian Tirol follows the Brenner Pass. This well-known route through the Alps leads all the way from Italy to western Germany at a height of 4,511 feet (1,375 meters) in some places. It was the gateway for most of the successful invasions of Italy from the north.
The provinces of Bolzano-Bozen and Trento comprise the famous Italian Tirol. Like Sicily, the two provinces form a semiautonomous region of Italy called Trentino-Alto Adige. The total area of the Italian Tirol is 5,256 square miles (13,613 square kilometers). The principal cities are Bolzano, or Bozen, and Trento.
In Bolzano-Bozen Province, unlike Trento to the south, three languages are spoken. The area belonged to Austria until 1919. Then it was ceded to Italy as part of the price Italy asked for entering World War I on the Allied side. In 1910 about 93 percent of the inhabitants of Bolzano-Bozen spoke German. Italian-speaking people made up about 2 percent. The remaining 5 percent spoke the Romansh dialect of eastern Switzerland.
When the fascists were in control of Italy, an attempt was made to Italianize Bolzano-Bozen. The German-speaking people were forbidden to wear their traditional costumes, to be christened wit
h German names, or to belong to social or political groups. Italian settlers moved into the area in large numbers. More than one third of the inhabitants now speak Italian.
In 1939 the German-speaking residents of Bolzano-Bozen were offered the option of moving to German-occupied countries. Of about 230,000 German-speaking citizens, 178,000 chose to go. Only about 70,000 of these actually moved. Many of these expatriates have since reentered the Italian Tirol.

Canadian politicians, suzerain of the Persian and HRE empires, are casting their evil taxman eye on Canadian freshwater.
Economic Instruments for Water Demand Management in Canada

This symposium was organized under the Policy Research Initiative's (PRI) Sustainable Development project as part of its focus on freshwater issues.
Objective
Conceived as an experts' symposium, the event was limited to 70 invited participants, in order to maximise the opportunity for meaningful discussion.
The participants included international experts from Australia, Israel, the EU and the US, as well as academics from across Canada, researchers and practitioners from provincial and municipal governments, representatives from federal departments, and Environmental Non-Governmental Organizations.
The main objectives of the symposium were to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the advantages and challenges of introducing economic instruments to promote the sustainable use and management of water, as well as to identify the key policy research needs for the effective implementation of these economic instruments. In addition, the event contributed to the development and consolidation of a network of interested policy-makers and researchers to better inform pol
icy-making for water management.
Background
The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has suggested that Canada uses fewer economic instruments than most European countries for environmental issues, and water is no exception. Until recently, most households in Canada did not have water meters; many municipalities still charge flat rates or even regressive declining block rates (lower fees per unit volume for larger users).
Most agricultural users, the largest water consumers in Canada, generally pay nothing for the water itself, paying only to run their own pumps and sprinkler systems.
Economic instruments can be more efficient than regulation, achieving the objective of conservation at lower cost.
Additionally, through the application of economic instruments, market forces can ensure priority in access to water of the most value-added uses and stimulate improvement and development of new technologies.
The symposium focused on economic instruments for water demand management in Canada and covered four themes: water demand management in urban, agricultural and industrial contexts, and market approaches for allocating water resources.
This is the first step in forming the North American Food Cartel.

First it was Cain and Abel, then Romulus and Remus, and now it's Musa (USA) and Isma'il (SAM).
In addition to the main body of Shi'ite believers, there are a number of fairly extremist sects that have broken away. The largest group is the Isma'ilis. The difference originates in the identity of the seventh imam.
The main body of Shi'ah accepted Musa, but the Isma'ili recognized instead his brother Isma'il. Since his disappearance, they await his return and hence are usually called Seveners, instead of Twelvers, the name applied to orthodox Shi'ites.
The seven imams recognized by the Isma'ilis are, in a sense, higher in excellence than the Prophet because they receive their teachings directly from God Himself. Isma'ilis may be found mainly in East Africa, Yemen, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
The Isma'ilis are divided into two groups: the Nizaris (also known as the ASSASSINS) and the Musta'lis.
The head of the Nizaris (see NAZI) is the Aga Khan, believed to be a direct descendant of 'Ali. The Musta'lis (see USA) live mostly around Bombay, India, and have their own spiritual head.

CBC newsworld broadcast (7pm BC time) the beginnings of a RCMP press conference concerning the end to the Gustafson Lake siege.
Twelve occupants have been evacuated and placed in police custody.
This happened after the visit of the sundancers' spiritual leader, John Stevens and Marlowe Sam entered the camp along with others needed for a peace ceremony.
The occupants were evacuated by car in groups of three or four, then 'processed' by the RCMP and taken to a further checkpoint, where they were flown by police helicopter to the 100 Mile House airport. Some are being held in jail at
100 Mile House, and some were transferred to Williams Lake.
Marlowe Sam has remained in the campsite. He is guarding the sacred site of the Sundance. This will later be shared between two others. The police are in the campsite conducting their investigations.
Academy Awards owed to the Monk~Media for their role in also orchestrating and directing this PUBLIC EVENT must wait until sometime later when the slave people of British Columbia are no longer in position to revolt.

Timeline 776 BC: First Olympic Games
The Olympic Games were a major athletic contest in ancient Greece, just as they are in the modern world. Tradition claims the games started in 776 BC at Olympia, in Elis Greece, named for Mount Olympus, the home of the Greek gods. The first games were supposedly dedicated to Zeus, the king of the gods, to whom the Greeks had erected a temple.
The competition was between the many city-states of what we now collectively call ancient Greece. The original games, held every four years, began as a single event, a foot race. Eventually other events, such as boxing and chariot racing, were added. Victors received olive tree wreaths, unlike the gold, silver, and bronze medals of today.
The games were abolished by a Christian emperor of Rome, Theodosius I, in AD 394. They were revived in 1896, with the first contest of the new era held
in Athens, Greece.

Aesop's fables have been handed down from generation to generation for the simple moral lessons they teach. They usually involve animals acting out human roles--a literary technique called personification.
Two of the more famous tales are "The Hare and the Tortoise" and "The Fox and the Grapes." Aesop's moral lessons are usually summarized in one-sentence parables at the end of his fables, such as "don't count your chickens before they hatch."

After centuries as one of the most powerful nations of Europe, proud Austria was reportedly forced to divide its empire with Hungary in 1867.

The Eastern Outpost of Europe
In the 1st century AD the Romans conquered the Celts south of the Danube and set up a frontier colony.
As Rome's power reportedly declined, Germanic tribes from the north overcame the Celts. C
hristianity took hold in the area in the 7th century, and Salzburg began its rise as a great ecclesiastical center. In the 9th century Charlemagne added the region to his empire as the Ostmark (East March), hoping to stem the invasions from the east. In the next century, however, Magyar invaders ravaged the land. Otto the Great crushed them in the battle of Lechfeld (955) and pushed them back into Hungary.
Austria's rise to power began with the Babenberg dynasty, which began when Leopold I became Margrave of Austria in 976. Elevated to a duchy, the Ostmark became the Osterreich (Eastern Realm). Its fortunes improved when Leopold V joined the Third Crusade. Leopold quarreled with Richard I (the Lion-Hearted) of England and imprisoned him as he tried to slip through Austria on his way home. With the ransom money England was forced to pay for Richard, Leopold improved the roads and towns of the realm. The Babenberg dynasty came to an end in 1246 when Frederick II, the last of the line, was killed in battle against the Magyars.
After Frederick's death his lands were divided; they eventually came under the control of the Frankish Hapsburg king of Germany, Rudolph I. The Hapsburgs' power mounted when Albert V was crowned Holy Roman emperor as Albert II in 1438. (See HABS, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.)
The title then became virtually hereditary.

Odysseus (or Ulysses, the Roman name) :
A Greek hero in the TROJAN WAR. Odysseus helped bring about the fall of TROY (America) by conceiving the ruse of the TROJAN HORSE (24/7 Monk~Media).

The current Austrian governor of California, Arnold, recently brought the entire country to focus on this Frankish goal when he referred to the state's Democratic politicians as "GirlieMen".

THE RATEL AMONG US
Ratel :
A carnivorous mammal (Mellivora capensis) of Africa and Asia, having short legs and a thick coat that is dark below and whitish above. Also called honey badger. [Afrikaans, from Middle Dutch, rattle, honeycomb (either from its cry or its taste for honey).]
ratio : An expression of the relative size of two numbers by showing one divided by the other. See Overman.
retail : A term describing businesses that sell GOODS directly to individuals. Saw Wal*Mart.
Oviraptor : had a distinctive, lightweight skull unique among the dinosaurs.
Its head resembled that of a parrot--deep and short with a toothless, stumpy beak. The curved jaws were heavily muscled, providing the beak with the power to crush hard objects such as bones. The body was small, measuring roughly six feet (1.8 meters) in length, and the legs were slender but strong, each with three clawed toes. The moderately long arms ended in large, three-fingered hands with curved claws that measured 3 inches (7.6 centimeters) long. A long, outstretched tail provided balance over the hips.
Oviraptor was a biped, meaning that it stood upright and walked on two legs. The first fossil evidence of Oviraptor--collected in 1923 at a site in Omnogov in southern Mongolia--inspired its name, which means "egg thief."

Romulus and Remus
In Roman legend, twin brothers who reportedly were raised by a she-wolf and founded the city of ROME. They came from a city founded by the son of AENEAS. During the construction of Rome, Romulus became incensed at Remus' sexual advances and killed him. The Romans later made Romulus into a god. Rome is named for Romulus.
Reportedly, AENEAS was a Masonic leader in the TROJAN WAR on the Trojan side.
After the fall of TROY, reputedly, Aeneas fled with his father and son, and was shipwrecked at CARTHAGE in northern AFRICA. There DIDO, the queen of Phoenician Carthage, fell in love with him, and ultimately committed suicide when she realized that Aeneas could not stay with her forever. After many trials, Aeneas the Etruscan arrived in present-day Tuscany in what is now ITALY. The ancient Romans believed that they were descended from the followers of Aeneas.
Aeneas is the hero of the AENEID of VIRGIL.
Because he carried his elderly father out of the ruined Troy on his back, Aeneas represents filial devotion and duty. The doomed love of Aeneas and Dido has been a source for artistic creation since ancient times.

BASALT COLUMNS (PILLARS)
TECTONIC BASALT :
One of the most abundant types of rock on Earth is basalt. It is a kind of igneous rock formed by the cooling of a certain type of molten lava. The lava cools and then hardens into a fine-grained crystalline rock (see Lava and Magma).
The word basalt is believed to have come from an ancient Ethiopian word, basal, meaning "a rock from which iron can be derived." Supposedly the first basalts were obtained in Ethiopia.
Basalt is dark gray or black in color and is denser than most other volcanic rocks. It contains less silica and more iron and magnesia than the other common volcanic rocks, such as rhyolite. Its chief minerals are feldspar, pyroxene, olivine, and iron oxides. Although nearly all basaltic rock is crystalline, in some cases, where the lava has cooled rapidly, it has a glassy appearance. Because of its density and toughness, basalt is often used for making roads and in the construction of buildings.
Basalt is found throughout the world. Most of the lavas that pour out of volcanoes that make up oceanic islands are basaltic. For example, the great shieldlike volcano of Mauna Loa, in Hawaii, is made up of basaltic lava flows.
As well as being the main volcanic rock of the oceans, basalt occurs on the continents. In the Columbia and Snake river regions of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho in the United States, thousands of square miles are covered with basalt. This enormous volume was poured out from great fissures, or cracks, in the
Earth's crust. Basalt plateaus of similar size occur in India and Brazil. Many modern volcanoes, such as Hekla in Iceland and Mount Etna in Italy, also erupt basaltic lava.
Where the liquid-lava flows cool slowly and evenly, the newly hardened material shrinks and cracks into columns with several sides. Well-known examples of these columns can be seen at Fingal's Cave on the island of Staffa off the coast of Scotland and at the Giant's Causeway in County Antrim, Ireland.
Somewhat similar columnar formations occur in the United States at the Palisades along the Hudson River in New York and at the Devils Postpile near Yosemite National Park in California.

The reason the media is having so much trouble with the position of the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth is that they, the media, are well aware that to agree with their SBV position opens a much larger pandora's box.
For the media to agree with the Swift Boat Veterans about John Kerry's true record in Vietnam would suggest that military intelligence has in the past knowingly been used to falsify military war records in time of war for the sole purpose of fabricating political heroes in the media at a later time.
This would then reopen many more questions about the false war records of Dwight D. (Ike) Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, George Bush senior, etc., and how the media had earlier conspired with military intelligence to fabricate false perceptions about these individuals as well, and then how they, the media, later manufactured consent within the voting public about these, "the chosen satraps", essential qualifications to serve as president.

LORD OF THE PALE RINGS
ELAPID COBRA
Ringhals, a small cobra, Hemachatus haemachatus, inhabiting drylands in southern Africa, noted for venom into the eyes of its enemies. Adults seldom exceed 4 feet (1.2 meters). The name of this snake is often spelled Rinkhals.
The head of the ringhals is small, the body slender, and the tail short. The eyes are round and black. Coloration is a uniform light brown to black, both above and on the underbelly. Some populations have irregular rings of a different shade. When alarmed, the snake raises its forebody and spreads its neck into a hood, revealing two or more vivid white bands on the throat.
The ringhals is an active night hunter, mainly of toads, lizards, and small mammals. Although it seldom bites humans, it is very quick to rear up and spit in defense. It deliberately aims at the eyes, and by squirting venom through its fangs while forcefully expelling air, it can spray a person from a distance of about 7 feet (2 meters). The fangs have evolved so that the openings of the venom channels are round rather than elliptical, and the venom is directed outward. Sprayed venom has no effect on unbroken skin, but in the eyes it causes pain, spasms, and temporary blindness.
The ringhals is the sole member of its genus in the family Elapidae, also known as the cobra family. It differs from its closest relatives, the members of the genus Naja, in having rough scales and in bearing live young--usually 20 to 30, possibly up to 60 in a litter--rather
than laying eggs. Several African and Asian cobras have fangs adapted for spitting, but the ringhals and the black-necked cobra, Naja nigricollis, that inhabit African grasslands are most fully adapted for this behavior and are known as the spitting cobras. Both snakes may feign death when in danger; the ringhals does this more readily.
Prelapsarian Evolution
Snakes are assumed by most authorities to have evolved from lizardlike ancestors that developed a subterranean or burrowing mode of existence that led eventually to the loss of limbs and reduced eyes. The oldest known fossil snake lived during the early Cretaceous period, between 100 and 140 million years ago.
Snakes began to diversify in the late Cretaceous period. The Colubridae appeared about 22 to 36 million years ago, and the venomous elapids and viperids appeared about 5 to 22 million years ago. It is believed that these three major families of snakes originated in Asia and spread from there to other parts of the world.

The first bookings for the farm's fall season began on August 15, 2004.

ISLAM'S MOSQUITOE INSANITY
When one has cancer doctors will recommend either a slash and burn solution to the disease, or one that is more limited, an attack that is directed towards the cancer cells themselves.
Never do they recommend placing bandaids on the lesions that are the symptoms of the cancer.
Why then, in the war in Iraq and elsewhere throughout the middle-East, is the US refusing to recognize that radical Islam's suicide bombers, the self-swatting madrasah MOSQUITOES, are being fabricated by means of brainwashing in MOSQUES?
And if one uses the analogy of the cure for cancer, why are the mosques which are at the epicenter of the cancer that produces human MOSQUITOES being protected as sanctuaries rather than being attacked with 5,000 lbs., or better still, 30,000 lbs. bombs?
The answer is really quite simple.
The same monks who are manufacturing MOSQUITOES in the middle-East have also, by means of their European Frankish Holy Roman Empire, fabricated comparable BEES in Western churches and have brainwashed these with the concept of SANCTUARY.

DARIUS I (550-486 BC).
One of the most powerful monarchs of ancient times was Darius the Great. He ruled over the vast Persian Empire that ranged from the Aegean Sea to the Indus River.
Darius was born in the reign of the great conqueror King Cyrus I. His father was Hystaspes, a satrap (governor of a satrapy, or province) under Cyrus and a distant relative of the king. Darius grew up at the court. When Cyrus' son and successor, Cambyses I, died, the throne was seized by a pretended heir, Gaumata. With the help of six Persian nobles, Darius assassinated the pretender and established himself as king.
The sudden change of rulers encouraged rebellions. Darius spent six years putting down the revolt. To maintain control, he devised a strong uniform system of government. He fixed tax rates, set up a standard coinage, and wrote a code of laws. He declared, ". . . I love justice, I hate iniquity. It is not my pleasure that the lower suffer injustice because of the higher."
To encourage trade, Darius dredged the old Egyptian canal connecting the Nile and the Red Sea. He built roads and set up post houses to aid travelers. Under him, slaves completed building the magnificent palaces at Susa and Persepolis. To extend the empire, Darius' generals conquered Thrace and Macedonia in the west and the Punjab and much of the Indus Va
lley in the east. Libya became a satrapy in 512 BC.
Five years later Darius made an alliance with Athens, but about 500 BC the Ionian Greeks began an uprising against Persian rule. For 14 years Darius waged wars with the Greeks. In 486 BC, while preparing a campaign against the Egyptians, he became ill and died. His tomb was built into a cliff near Persepolis. He left a record of his reign chiseled on the side of a rocky cliff overlooking the village of Behistun, in Iran.

Tsunami, large and destructive water wave, usually caused by seismic event. One of the most powerful and feared natural disasters, a tsunami can challenge a jet airplane for speed and a three-story building for height, packing enough energy to destroy an entire coastal community in moments. Although seismic events such as earthquakes or volcanic eruptions are the most common cause of tsunamis, the impact of cosmic bodies, such as meteorites, can generate the formidable waves as well.
The word tsunami is a Japanese word, represented by two characters: tsu, meaning "harbor" or "port," and nami, meaning "wave."
Although tsunamis are often referred to as tidal waves, this is a misnomer. Tides are generated by the gravitational effects of the moon, sun, and planets. Tsunamis are caused by a sudden or impulsive disturbance that vertically displaces the water column. They are not connected to tides, though the tide level affects the impact a tsunami has as it reaches the shore.
Tsunamis are most commonly generated by earthquakes in marine and coastal regions. Some marine earthquakes are caused when the seafloor abruptly deforms; the resulting energy transfer to the water column produces large waves. Another type of offshore earthquake is associated with the movement of oceanic and continental plates. This is particularly prevalent in the Pacific, where the dense oceanic plates tend to slip under the lighter
continental plates that rim the ocean. The vertical movement produces a tsunami because of the large amount of energy transferred as the water column is displaced. Other underwater seismic events, such as volcanic eruptions and landslides, can also generate tsunamis.
Unlike submarine events, which disrupt the water column from below, supermarine events and cosmic impacts disturb the water from above; as the object hits the water surface, energy from the momentum of the falling debris is transferred to the water. This creates tsunamis that often are not as long-lived as those caused by submarine events; however, they still pack enough force to cause severe damage.
Tsunamis are much larger than the wind-generated waves we observe at the beach, and they also have a longer period. (The period is the time between the end of one wave and the beginning of another.) While a wind-generated wave might have a length of approximately 500 feet (150 meters) and a period of ten seconds, a tsunami may be 60 miles (100 kilometers) long and have a period of one hour. Tsunamis behave like shallow-water waves because the ratio between the depth of the water and the length of the wave is very small. This property of tsunamis relates directly to the tremendous speed they can achieve, because a shallow-water wave travels at speeds related to the depth of the water and the acceleration of gravity. The deeper the water, the faster the wave. Assuming an ocean depth of 13,100 feet (4,000 meters), a tsunami can travel more than 400 miles (640 kilometers) per hour. At
this speed, a tsunami can compete with a jet airplane.
The vast length of a tsunami also affects the force it carries. As the wave travels, the rate of energy loss is inversely proportional to the length of the wave. This means that the longer the wave, the less energy is lost as it travels, and therefore the more energy it still has as it strikes the coastline.
As the tsunami approaches land, it grows larger. Because the speed of the wave is proportional to the water depth, as the water becomes more shallow, the speed of the wave diminishes. As the speed decreases, the height increases. The energy stored in the wave dissipates slightly, due to bottom friction and turbulence closer to shore, but the wave still packs a good deal of force.
Tsunamis consist of a series of waves. Because the waves have very long periods, the danger posed by a tsunami can last several hours, especially since the first wave may not be the largest of the series. The force of a tsunami as it reaches shore is enormous, and it will continue to travel until its energy is completely dissipated. This means that it may travel inland several hundred feet, carrying with it boats, large rocks, and other heavy debris. All low-lying coastal areas are vulnerable to tsunami attack.
Tsunami waves are very small in deep water. Because they are virtually imperceptible on the open sea, no effective warning system has yet been developed. However, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii does issue bulletins when there is a possibility of a tsunami in the
Pacific. A watch bulletin is always released when a terrestrial or submarine earthquake occurs that registers a magnitude of 6.75 or greater on the Richter scale. A warning bulletin is released when tidal stations note certain characteristics of the sea matching those of a potential tsunami.
It is not possible to outrun a tsunami, but there are precautions that can be taken to minimize the possible dangers of a tsunami. The generation of a tsunami is rapid, and because of their great speed, the waves can reach shore very quickly. Anyone who is at the beach or near the ocean and feels the earth shake should immediately move to higher ground, rather than wait for a warning to be issued. It is not safe to return to low-lying ground until an official "all-clear" has been issued. Those who are at sea when a tsunami warning is issued should not return to port. Tsunamis cause rapid changes in water levels and create dangerous currents in harbors and ports.
One of the worst earthquake-generated tsunami events of the 20th century took place in Chile in 1960. When a powerful earthquake struck the coastal region of the country the force of the quake so frightened the inhabitants that they got into their boats and went out into the harbor to escape the disaster. Within fifteen minutes, a tsunami that was generated by the earthquake arrived at the harbor, destroying all of the boats and their inhabitants. The earthquake and the tsunami were responsible for an es
timated 300 to 2,000 deaths along the Chile-Peru coast. After devastating the coastline of South America, the tsunami traveled for 15 hours across the Pacific to Hilo, Hawaii, causing property damage estimated at $24 million and claiming an additional 61 lives.
The tsunami that devastated the northwestern coast of Papua New Guinea on July 17, 1998, was generated by an earthquake 12 miles (19 kilometers) offshore that registered 7.0 on the Richter scale. Three waves measuring more than 23 feet (7 meters) high struck an 18-mile (28-kilometer) stretch of coastline within six minutes of the earthquake. Three coastal villages were swept completely clean by the deadly attack--nothing remained but sand. The death toll reached more than 1,200, most of whom were the elderly and children.

DEVICES USED IN CRYPTOGRAPHY
Apparatus for enciphering messages have existed since ancient times. Sparta, the most warlike of the Greek city-states, had a well-developed system of secret military communication as early as the 5th century BC.
With the scytale--the first known cryptographic device--the Spartans changed plaintext into ciphertext by a transposition method. The device consisted of a wooden staff around which a long strip of writing material--paper, parchment, or leather--was tightly wound. The plaintext was written down the staff on the paper, which was unwound before it was dispatched. All that showed on the unwound material was a group of apparently unconnected letters, randomly placed. They made sense only when wrapped around a scytale of identical thickness.
Roman writings of the 4th century BC describe a device called a cipher disk. It consisted of two wheels or disks, coaxially connected so that at least one of them could be turned freely. Both wheels contained an alphabet and numbers on their edges. Cipher disks were extensively used in many forms during the Italian Renaissance.
United States President Thomas Jefferson reportedly invented a wheel cipher in the 1790s. Nearly identical cipher devices are still used by the Army and Navy.
The similar Bazeries cylinder was developed by Etienne Bazeries in 1891. It had a set of 20 disks,
each with a differently sequenced alphabet on its edge. These disks, numbered from 1 to 20, were put on a shaft in an order determined by a numerical key. The plaintext was set on one horizontal row by revolving the disks until the row spelled out 20 letters of the message. The ciphertext could be taken from any other row at that setting. The process was repeated until the message was completed.
The forerunner of modern cryptographic devices was the rotor machine invented in 1917 by Edward H. Hebern. It uses several rotating disks to produce polyalphabetic ciphers. Each side of each disk has 26 electrical contacts. The contacts on one side are wired at random to those on the other side. One side represents the plain letters and the other the cipher letters of a message. Electric current initiated by a typewriter key travels through the rotors, finally ending at one contact, which becomes the cipher letter. The disks are rotated after each letter is enciphered, repeatedly changing the cipher alphabet being used.
The complex cipher devices used today consist of a keyboard, on which to type the plaintext, and a keying and enciphering mechanism. Some are equipped to transmit and receive ciphertext and to decipher the material automatically on printed tapes.
HISTORY OF SECRET WRITING
Crytograms have been found in the Old Testament, such as the word SHESHACH for BABEL (Babylon). The substitution method, called athbash, involved replacing the
last letter of the Hebrew alphabet with the first, the next-to-last with the second, and so on.
Codes were known to the Babylonians and Assyrians. Egyptian scribes used at least three forms of secret writing. The Greeks developed transposition and substitution systems.
Modern cryptography had its beginnings in the Italian Renaissance, when the rise of diplomacy spurred the use of secret communication. In 1466 the architect Leone Battista Alberti developed the polyalphabetic principle, the basis for most modern ciphers. Johannes Tritheim, in 'Polygraphia' (1508), used the square table for the first time.
Cryptography and cryptanalysis have had an important historical place in both World Wars. In early 1917 the interception and deciphering of the Zimmermann Note, a telegram sent by the German foreign secretary, was a decisive factor in the declaration of war against Germany by the United States. Breaking the codes and ciphers used by the Japanese and the use of Navajo tribal language in codetext contributed to the Allied victory in World War II.

CIPHERS AND CODES
Diplomatic, military, and industrial secrets are often exchanged by disguising the information in a cryptogram--writing in cipher or code. Unlike the steganogram, a form of secret writing that involves concealment of the text itself, a message in cipher or code is transmitted openly. Only the meaning is hidden.
The preparation and analysis of ciphers and codes--cryptography and cryptanalysis--together make up the science of cryptology (from the Greek kryptos, meaning "hidden," and logos, meaning "speech"). In this science the conversion of a cryptogram into plaintext (the message in its original language) can be classified according to whether or not the key to its code or cipher system is known.
Cryptography is concerned with the deciphering or decoding (reading) of confidential communications. The term includes enciphering or encoding (writing) plaintext as well. Cryptography is pivotal for securing data communications between computers and for providing assurance that the message is not a forgery.
Cryptanalysis involves the solution of a cryptogram without a key or any knowledge of the system used. This procedure is sometimes called codebreaking, even when the message is written in ciphers.
Methods of Secret Writing
In popular usage, the term "code" is often applied to any form of symbolic communication, such as the International Signal Code (see Signaling). In the practice of secret writing, however, there is an important distinction between a code and a
cipher.
A ciphertext (the message in cipher) uses symbols related to the units of the plaintext in a specific and constant way. One letter of the plaintext can be enciphered by one letter, or two, or three.
A codetext (the message in code) is written with symbols that stand for units of different length in the plaintext. For example, the code word ABABA might represent a whole sentence, a phrase, a word, a syllable, or simply one letter of a code system.
A steganogram, which may be prepared in either cipher or code, employs various tools to conceal the existence of the message. For example, it may be written in an invisible ink, some chemical substance that becomes legible only when specially treated (see Ink and Inc). A plain message can be marked by placing pinpricks or microdots over letters or words in an ordinary text, such as a magazine or book.
CIPHER SYSTEMS
In spite of the apparent diversity of cipher systems, all ciphers are produced by two basic methods--transposition and substitution.
A transposition cipher is one in which the letters of the plaintext are retained but are moved from their normal position. An anagram, such as HSKEAPSREAE for SHAKESPEARE, is a type of transposition cipher.
A substitution cipher is formed by exchanging the letters in the plaintext for other letters or symbols, while allowing their order to remain the same.
The International Morse Code, in which - - - - - - - - - represents SOS (the universal signal for help), is a type of subst
itution cipher. A public code, it is not intended to keep messages secret, however.
To be of practical value, a cryptogram must be easily deciphered by the intended recipient, yet be unintelligible to an interceptor. When the method of enciphering is systematic, the process can be readily reversed to produce plaintext from ciphertext.
In the preparation of cryptograms, the matrices shown are the types most often used to simplify enciphering procedures. Each type forms a specific part of a given cipher system and is usually constant within that system. A key--which can be a matrix dimension or a word, phrase, or specific route of transcription--is the variable. Both the encipherer and the decipherer must be familiar with the general and the specific elements of the process used.
Greater secrecy is assured by polyalphabetic substitution systems, which use two or more cipher alphabets--usually interrelated--to encipher a message. By an extension of the monoalphabetic system through 26 alphabets, the simplest type of interrelated cipher alphabets can be formed. Here A in one alphabet is represented by B in a second, by C in a third, and so on. This square is called the Vigenere tableau, after Blaise de Vigenere, a 16th-century diplomat who modified older cipher principles.

According to legend, the city of Rome was founded in 753 BC by Romulus, who was the son of Mars, the god of war, and Rhea Silvia, a human. The city, set on seven hills, was probably occupied during the Bronze Age, but appears in history in the 8th century BC. The Romulus legend seems to have originated in the 4th century BC.
Pales, in Roman mythology, a god or goddess of flocks and shepherds in whose honor the feast of Parilia, or Palilia, was celebrated on April 21, the day later said to be founding date of Rome.
According to the story, after a battle with his twin brother Remus, Romulus became the first king of the new land before being spirited away to Mount Olympus. He was supposedly followed by Numa Pompilius, a wise ruler who is said to have contributed to the development of the modern calendar.

Ukraine was reorganized as Russian provinces with no national distinctiveness. Part of Ukraine acquired from Poland became the Pale of Settlement, within which the Jewish population was confined.
Areas of forced segregation in cities were called ghettos. The term was first used in Venice, Italy, in 1516, but the practice had started as early as 1280, when the Hebrews of Morocco were put into city quarters called millahs. The gradual abolishment of ghettos in Western European cities began in the 19th century.
The Pale of Settlement ceased to exist during World War I, when Russia was attacked by Germany. It was officially abolished in April 1917.

Most people who see Tommy Franks carrying a Bible around with him as he travels from place to place would automatically believe that it is because he is a Christian. No one but Freemasonry's insiders would suspect that the Bible is simply a code book that Franks uses to decypher his instructions.
Likewise, people believe that by the words 'my country' General Franks means the USA; and by 'my family' he means his wife and children.
In reality, to secular Freemasons 'my faith' means ZoroAstrian~ZoroBabel (VI ~ PI) Freemasonry (Saul and Paul, or in short, PS); 'my country' means 'the world'; and 'my family' means 'my Band of Brothers'.

In November 1976 Jimmy Carter was elected the 39th president of the United States. His emphasis on morality in government and his concern for social welfare appealed to voters who were disturbed by corruption in government and economic problems.
In winning the presidency, Carter and his vice-presidential candidate, Walter F. Mondale of Minnesota, defeated the Republican incumbent, Gerald R. Ford, and his running mate, Robert J. Dole of Kansas.
Carter polled half of the popular vote and received 297 electoral votes from 23 states and the District of Columbia. Renominated in 1980, despite a strong challenge by Senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, Carter received only 49 electoral votes from six states and the District. Labeled as incompetent, he lost to the Republican candidate, Ronald W. Reagan, in a landslide. Carter had been the first man reared in the Deep South to be elected president since pre-Civil War days.
Family and Early Life
James Earl Carter, Jr., was
born on Oct. 1, 1924, in Plains, a small town in southwestern Georgia. The first president born in a hospital, he was the first of four children of James Earl Carter (called Earl) and Lillian Gordy Carter (known as Miss Lillian). His sisters were Gloria and Ruth, and he had a brother, William (Billy).
Earl Carter served in the United States Army in World War I. He farmed in Archery, Ga., where he also operated a small general store. He reportedly worked hard, and he was an innovative businessman. When peanuts replaced cotton as the principal crop in southwestern Georgia in the 1930s, he began to buy peanuts from other farmers for processing into oil. Later Earl Carter operated a successful warehouse, selling seed and other farming supplies in Plains. He was strict with his children and required that they also work hard on the family farm. Yet he reputedly was widely respected as a friendly and generous person who was always well informed about local politics. He was a county school board member and one of the first directors of the local Rural Electrification program.
Jimmy's mother was a registered nurse. She was an avid reader and was somewhat less rigid in her attitudes toward segregation than was her husband. Many of her patients were black, and reportedly, she sometimes nursed them without pay.
The Carters were one of only two white families in Archery, a community of more than 25 black families. Jimmy's coworkers in the fields and his playmates were the black children of Archery. During much o
f his childhood the family lived in a small house without plumbing or electricity.
From an early age Jimmy demonstrated the qualities that would later make him a successful farmer and businessman. As a boy, he sold peanuts in Plains. At the age of 9 he had saved enough money to buy five bales of cotton. Years later he sold the cotton at a greatly increased price. With his earnings Jimmy bought five tenant houses that he rented.
The Carters were members of the Plains Baptist Church. Religion was a regular and important part of their lives. Later Jimmy's sister Ruth became an evangelist and Jimmy worked briefly in mission projects. He read widely in Christian theology and, a "born-again" Baptist deacon, has made his religious beliefs public throughout his political career.
Education and Marriage
Jimmy was the first member of the Carter family to complete a high school education. He attended public schools for 11 years, the full program in rural Georgia at the time, and he graduated at the top of his class. One of the most important influences on him was a school superintendent who introduced him to the arts and to serious literature.
Partly because of the influence of an uncle who was in the Navy, Carter decided while in high school that he wanted to attend the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. Since there were no immediate vacancies, in 1941-42 he attended Georgia
Southwestern College, in Americus. In 1942 Carter received an appointment to Annapolis for the following year. In 1942-43 he attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, where he enrolled in Naval ROTC. In 1943 Carter entered the Naval Academy.
As he had been in high school and in college, Carter was a serious student at Annapolis. He enjoyed military studies and training, but he did not always like the hazing that first-year students were subjected to. He sometimes took punishment rather than perform stunts he found demeaning. Carter participated in summer cruises in the closing years of World War II and graduated 59th in a class of 820 in 1946. He was commissioned an ensign.
On a visit to Plains before his final year at Annapolis, Carter renewed his acquaintance with Rosalynn Smith, best friend of his sister Ruth. In the summer after his graduation they were married. Like her husband, Rosalynn came from a family that had settled in Georgia in the late 1700s. Her father had died when she was 13. Two years later she began working in a beauty parlor to help her mother support the family. Later she attended Georgia Southwestern.
Carter spent more than six years as a naval officer. Initially, he was an instructor in naval programs at Norfolk, Va., and worked on various projects, including experimental radar. In 1948 Carter was accepted for submarine duty. His first assignment was on the USS Pomfret in the Far East. In 1950 Carter was assigned as a senior officer for th
e USS K-1, the first ship built by the United States Navy after World War II. He worked on the design, installation, and testing of various parts of the submarine and qualified as a submarine commander.
Carter then applied for the nuclear submarine program headed by Adm. Hyman Rickover. Carter has said that, next to his parents, Rickover was the most influential person in his life. He admired Rickover's insistence on the highest standards for himself and his subordinates. Carter was made senior officer of Seawolf, one of the first two nuclear-powered submarines. He worked on the construction of the power plant for the vessel, studied reactor technology and nuclear physics, and was a naval instructor.
By the early 1950s Carter and his wife had three sons--John William (Jack), James Earl III (Chip), and Donnel Jeffrey (Jeff). Rosalynn had followed her husband whenever possible on his various naval assignments. Their sons were born, respectively, in Virginia, Hawaii, and Connecticut. Carter had risen to the rank of lieutenant, and a brilliant naval career seemed to be ahead of him.
Return to Georgia
In 1953 Carter's father, then a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, died. Carter reportedly was moved by the outpouring of admiration and affection for his father from people throughout the state. He saw that his father had had a great effect on people through his business success, his personal generosity, and his service in local an
d state politics. Carter decided that he would resign from the Navy to pursue a life modeled after his father's.
Although reportedly Rosalynn at first opposed the move, the Carter family returned to Georgia, where they lived for a brief time in public housing. Carter helped his mother on the farm and in the family business. He began to relearn all that he had forgotten about agriculture. At first Carter was not successful as a farmer. His income in 1954 was only about two hundred dollars. However, reportedly through hard work and expansion of the peanut seed business, the family enterprise headed by Carter soon succeeded. Meanwhile, Rosalynn Carter began to help her husband in business by doing the bookkeeping.
After her husband's death Lillian Carter served as a housemother at a university in Alabama and later operated a nursing home. In 1966, at the age of 68, she joined the Peace Corps for two years of service as a nurse in India.
A fourth child, Amy Lynn, was born to the Carters in 1967. In the late 1960s Carter's brother, Billy, became a partner in the family business.
Georgia Politics
From the beginning of his return to Georgia, Carter became involved in local issues that were politically sensitive. He refused to join the White Citizens' Council, an organization that tried to maintain racial segregation in Southern society. He worked unsuccessfully to integrate his church. Carter served briefly on the school board, but his plan to c
onsolidate schools was rejected by the voters.
In 1962 Carter entered the race for the Democratic nomination for the Georgia Senate. He lost by a few votes, reportedly because of fraud that included stuffed ballot boxes. Carter vigorously contested the results through the courts and the state party. He was also able to interest an Atlanta newspaper in the case, which led to statewide exposure of vote fraud in Georgia. Although discouraged by the extent of corruption in politics, Carter pursued his appeals until he was declared the winner of the primary. The decision came so late, however, that voters in some counties had to write in Carter's name. In spite of the confusion, Carter won the election.
As a state senator, Carter developed approaches to issues that he would later use as governor and as a presidential candidate. He advocated comprehensive planning in government, critical examination of budgets, and programs to help the poor and the disadvantaged. He was reelected in 1964.
In 1966 Carter announced his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives. When the Republican candidate, a political rival for many years, then switched to the race for governor, Carter also changed his plans and became a candidate for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination. He lost the primary election and immediately began making plans to run again in 1970.
Carter's planning succeeded, and in 1971 he was inau
gurated as governor of Georgia. Although he had not campaigned as a radical innovator, as governor Carter introduced policies that helped change the government and society of Georgia. He supported integration and appointed many blacks to posts in state government. He hung portraits of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and other prominent blacks in the state Capitol. Carter formed biracial groups to deal with racial tensions. He promoted prison reform and mental health programs. Carter attempted to make the state government more efficient by reducing and reorganizing the state bureaucracy. He also instituted zero-based budgeting, requiring that all programs be frequently reevaluated.
During his term as governor Carter traveled widely. He received many national and international visitors to Georgia. As he met nationally prominent politicians, Carter began to believe that he was as well qualified as they to run for president. As early as 1971 Carter began to consider the possibility of becoming a candidate. While serving as chairman of the Democratic party's 1974 campaign committee, he made wide contacts with other Democratic leaders throughout the country. He began to assemble a campaign staff and advisers. In late 1974 Carter announced that he was a candidate for president.
After his term as governor ended in early 1975, Carter returned to the family business. He also spent some time in C
hristian mission work in the North.
National Politics
When he began his national campaign, Carter was not as well known as several other candidates, including some members of Congress.
From the first, however, Carter, with the open support of the media and independents, demonstrated his ability to win votes. He entered 26 of 27 preferential primaries and finished first in 17 of them. He won 19 of 31 primaries in all. Carter was strong both in traditionally conservative and in liberal states. He ran well in industrial states as well as farm states. (see OPEN primaries) Carter outpolled every other Democratic candidate in all sections of the country except the Far West. By the time the primaries had ended, most of his rivals had withdrawn, some pledging their support to Carter. He also began to receive endorsements from other prominent Democrats.
At the Democratic convention in New York City in July 1976 Carter received the nomination on the first ballot. As his vice-presidential running mate, he chose Walter F. Mondale, a United States senator from Minnesota and a leader of the liberal bloc in Congress. Many Democratic leaders joined the Carter family at the rostrum, emphasizing party unity.
In public opinion polls taken at the time of his nomination, Carter led President Ford by 30 percentage points, one of the largest leads ever held by a presidential candidate. During the campaign--the first ever financed with tax revenues--Carter and Ford held a series of televised debates. Meanwhile, Carter's lead steadily dwindled.
Carter campaigned for efficiency and honesty in government as well as broader social programs, including national health insurance. He emphasized the humane role government should play in the lives of citizens. He campaigned as a man of integrity and trust who could lead the nation to a renewal of spirit. With the backing of much of the traditional Democratic coalition and with strong support from blacks and organized labor, Carter won a narrow victory. His 57-vote electoral college margin was the smallest in 60 years.
Carter's inaugural was appropriate to the populist themes of his campaign. Thousands of his volunteer workers attended the celebrations, which were somewhat less formal than usual. In an inaugural speech that emphasized old-fashioned virtues, Carter quoted from a Plains schoolteacher: "We must adjust to changing times and still hold to unchanging principles." With some of his family, Carter walked the mile and a half in the inaugural parade to the White House.
The walk was the first of several symbolic acts by Carter to establish the image of a president who would stay in touch with the people. He sold the presidential yacht, curtailed White House limousine service, restricted the use of his portrait in government offices, and suspended the playing of 'Hail to the C
hief'. He conducted a radio phone-in program, 'Ask the President', in which 42 callers--of 9 million who tried to reach him--asked a wide range of questions. Wearing a cardigan that helped dramatize energy conservation, Carter held a televised "fireside chat." He attended a mock New England town meeting, staying overnight with a local family.
Carter's Appointments
The original Carter Cabinet included several members who had been prominent officials in previous Democratic administrations: Cyrus R. Vance, secretary of state; W. Michael Blumenthal, secretary of the treasury; Harold Brown, secretary of defense; and Joseph A. Califano, Jr., secretary of health, education, and welfare. Carter appointed Griffin B. Bell, a federal judge and longtime associate, as attorney general. Other Cabinet heads were Cecil D. Andrus, interior; Robert Bergland, agriculture; F. Ray Marshall, labor; and Brock Adams, transportation. James R. Schlesinger became secretary of a new Cabinet-level Department of Energy.
Carter appointed two women: Juanita M. Kreps, secretary of commerce, and Patricia Roberts Harris, secretary of housing and urban development. Harris was the only black member of the Cabinet; but Carter appointed Andrew Young, a black Georgia congressman, as ambassador to the United Nations (UN). A close Carter associate, Young became a prominent but controversial foreign policy spokesman. Carter appointed William H. Webster as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Adm. Stansfield Turner as director
of the Central Intelligence Agency. He did not make any Supreme Court appointments.
In July 1979 Carter asked for the formal resignations of all Cabinet members. He replaced Blumenthal with G. William Miller, Adams with Neil E. Goldschmidt, and Schlesinger with Charles W. Duncan, Jr. In addition, Carter replaced Califano with Harris and appointed Moon Landrieu to replace Harris. Benjamin R. Civiletti replaced Bell, who left voluntarily. All other Cabinet members were reappointed.
Young resigned in August 1979 after it was revealed that he had held an unauthorized meeting with representatives of the Palestine Liberation Organization. He was replaced by Donald F. McHenry. In November Philip M. Klutznick replaced Kreps, who resigned. Shirley Hufstedler was named to head the new Cabinet-level Department of Education; when it began operation in 1980, the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare became the Department of Health and Human Services. In April 1980 Vance resigned; his successor was Senator Edmund Muskie of Maine.
Carter established ethics guidelines for Cabinet members and for high-ranking aides. Among other requirements, Cabinet members were required to put financial holdings into blind trusts. There were, however, two major scandals during Carter's administration. Bert Lance, a Carter confidant who became director of the Office of Management and Budget, resigned in 1978 after charges of earlier improper conduct as a banker; he was later acquitted in court. In 1980 a Senate subcommittee investigated busin
ess dealings between the Libyan government and Carter's brother, Billy. Although the subcommittee determined that foreign policy had not been affected, its report criticized President Carter for not acting to prevent the questionable activities of his brother.
Domestic Policies
Carter took office during one of the most severe winters on record. The long period of below-freezing temperatures produced the worst shortage of natural gas in the nation's history. Carter received temporary authority from Congress to allocate natural gas supplies and to regulate prices. He also used the Taft-Hartley act to end a coal miner's strike.
In April 1977 Carter gave the first of a series of major addresses to the nation on energy, which was to become one of the dominant concerns of his administration. Congress approved several of Carter's energy proposals, including the deregulation of natural gas prices, by 1985, and incentives for such conservation measures as conversion to coal in industry and fuel-saving improvements in the home.
In a second major energy program, announced in April 1979, Carter ordered the gradual decontrol of domestic oil prices, but a court later struck down his order. Congress approved Carter's tax on the so-called windfall profits of oil companies but rejected his request for standby authority for gasoline rationing. A third major set of energy measures included government underwriting of the development of synthetic fuels, whic
h Congress also approved.
The economy became Carter's other domestic concern. Although he emphasized cutbacks in spending, he also approved some measures to stimulate the economy. As the rate of inflation increased, in October 1978 Carter announced the first of several anti-inflation plans, which included voluntary wage and price controls. In November he took emergency measures to protect the declining dollar on world markets.
The cost of living increased more than 13 percent during 1979, and in March 1980 Carter announced new anti-inflation measures. They included credit restraints, which caused a drop in auto and housing sales and produced a deep, but short, recession in the United States.
Several Carter reforms were approved by Congress. They included limited authority to reorganize the federal bureaucracy, changes in Civil Service to reward performance, and deregulation of the trucking, airline, and railroad industries. Carter also won a major reform of the banking system and strengthening of the Social Security trust fund. Congress rejected his proposal for direct election of the president.
Military and Foreign Affairs
In his first official act as president, Carter granted pardons to Vietnam-era draft evaders. The pardons did not extend to deserters or to evaders who had used force or were employees of Selective Service.
While Carter deferred production of the neutron bomb and of the B
-1 bomber, he approved full-scale development of the MX missile system. He stressed human rights in foreign affairs, publicly criticizing several countries and specific leaders for their repressive policies. He supported several Soviet dissidents, an action that the Soviet Union denounced as interference in its domestic affairs. Some Latin American governments broke off agreements with the United States over the charges of repression.
The president participated in summit meetings in Europe and Japan. He visited South America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, and his wife also traveled on behalf of the administration. After ending travel bans to Kampuchea (Cambodia), Cuba, North Korea, and Vietnam in 1977, Carter extended full diplomatic recognition to China beginning in 1979.
Carter narrowly won Senate approval of two treaties in which the United States agreed to relinquish control of the Panama Canal and its surrounding zone by the year 2000. Strong opposition delayed ratification of the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT II) agreement reached with the Soviet Union.
In 1978 Carter conducted a summit meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar el-Sadat that resulted in agreements on principles for a peace treaty. In visits to Egypt and Israel in 1979, Carter negotiated a last-minute acceptance of a formal treaty.
After Iranian militants seized the American Embassy in Tehran on Nov. 4, 1979, Carter initiated a s
eries of moves to negotiate the release of the more than 50 Americans being held hostage. He called off an unsuccessful military rescue in progress in April 1980. (The last hostages were released moments after Carter left office on Jan. 20, 1981.)
When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in December 1979, Carter ordered bans on shipments of grain and high-technology goods. He called for a boycott, which more than 60 countries joined, of the 1980 Olympic Games held in Moscow. Carter won Congressional approval to resume draft registration.
Renomination and Defeat
Shortly after his election Carter began to lose the support of many liberal Democrats who were critical of his economic policies. In the 1980 primaries Edward Kennedy defeated Carter in some of the most populous states, including California, New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. In July 1980 Carter received the lowest approval rating of any president in the history of modern public opinion polls. The hostage crisis played a major role in Carter's image of weakness and incompetency.
At the Democratic convention, though Carter was renominated, Kennedy supporters were able to adopt a platform with economic policies that Carter opposed. Carter refused to participate in televised debates that included Republican Congressman John B. Anderson of Illinois, who ran as an independent. Although the polls predicted a close election, Carter's defeat by the Republican nominee, Rona
ld W. Reagan, was one of the worst ever suffered by an incumbent president.
In retirement Carter was one of the few modern leaders who did not try to cash in on the presidency. A professor at Emory University in Atlanta, he published five books in the 1980s. His volunteer services ranged from hands-on help in building low-income housing to continuing mediation for human rights and peace in the Middle East. In 1989 and 1990 he monitored controversial elections in Central America.
Recently, Carter ordered the Democratic party presidential candidate, Howard Dean, to come to his home on the eve of the primary election. Upon his return to IOWA, Dean, the favorite going into the primary, lost badly to John Kerry and John Edwards, both being 'poll fabricated' Monk-Media favorites.
The given name JOHN is given primarily to define the 'users of prostitutes'. Hurricane Charley and George Bush
What's taking CNN this long before they put Dana Bash on the air to blame George W. Bush for the damage done by Hurricane Charley?
One would think that, to be true to form, CNN would have already blamed Bush for the killer storm. After all its been 12 hours since the storm hit Florida and CNN usually blames Bush for every other bad thing almost as soon as it happens.

His first long original poems was 'The Book of the Duchess'. 'Troilus and Criseyde' is a magnificent love story. His ladies of high station are treated somewhat idealistically, but the Wife of Bath in the 'Canterbury Tales' is very realistic.
AMUSEMENT. The origins of amusement parks lie in ancient and medieval religious festivals and trade fairs. Merchants, entertainers, and food sellers gathered in order to take advantage of the large temporary crowds. Permanent outdoor amusement areas also date from antiquity, but public resorts for personal relaxation and recreation did not appear in Europe until the Renaissance. The leaders of Vietnam sought foreign investment to help their economy. Vietnamese forces did pull out of Cambodia, and a Cambodian peace agreement was signed on Oct. 23, 1991.
Relations were renewed with China in mid-1991 after 13 years of hostility. Diplomatic relations with the United States were formally restored in July 1995, reportedly after Vietnam agreed to pay compensation for confiscated United States property and the United States lifted a freeze on Vietnamese assets.

THE SHINING ONES

Reportedly, during the Middle Ages, several orders of knighthood were founded. The first of these orders arose while the Crusades against the Muslims were in progress.
Among these orders were the Knights of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, now called the Knights of Malta; the Poor Knights of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon, known generally as the Knights Templars; the Hospitallers of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem; and the Teutonic Knights. All of these orders became strong political powers in the late Middle Ages.
Other countries had organizations of knights as well. In France the Order of the Golden Fleece was founded in 1430. It later became the principal knightly order of both Austria and Spain. Portugal had the Order of St. Benedict of Avis. In Germany there were the orders of the Black Eagle and of the Red Eagle. Russia had three orders: St. Andrew, St. George, and St. Nicholas. The Danish Order of the Elephant was founded in the 15th century and revived in 1693. The Norwegian Order of St. Olav was not founded until 1847. In the Far East, Japan had two orders: the Chrysanthemum and the Rising Sun.
In countries that are no longer monarchies, the best-known modern order is the French Legion of Honor which was established by Napoleon in 1802. Other republics have similar orders of merit to award
civilian and military honors.

The real message being disseminated by CNN's coverage of the trials in Utah and California of the murder of pregnant wives is that ...'seemingly nice guys DO murder their wives' (so don't sleep tonight).
Also, the Kobi Bryant trial is conveying the Monk-Media's premiss that all western women are 'money-grubbing sluts'.
It's all part of the monks War on Women designed to stress out women.
Likewise, CNN human resources department obviously specializes in finding female on-air personalities with big mouths and really big teeth.

IT'S TIME TO SWAT IRAQ'S 'BAS' MOSQUITOES
Both cities in Iraq, An Najaf and Sadr City in Baghdad, have dangerously high concentrations of self-swatting radical Islamic 'BAS' Mosquitoes, each programmed in 'Madrasah' mosques led by the cleric Muqtada al Sadr.
Grand Ayatolla Ali al Sistani, the NATSI Shi'ite spiritual leader of Iraq who is usually based at the Imam Ali mosque in An Najaf has recently left town, reportedly to travel to Britain for medical reasons.
The secular governor of An Najaf has now given the American marines the green light to enter the Imam Ali mosque and clear out the infestation of its 'Mehdi Militia' (BAS) Mosquitoes.
If handled properly this may be just the opportunity that the American military has been waiting for; a chance to search the tunnels (Holy of Holies) beneath the Imam Ali mosque for Saddam's long sought out 'stockpile of Iraq's WMD' (weapons of mass destruction).
The marines must not leave this job to Iraqi self-defense forces or police. They must handle this search themselves, as such a opportunity may not present itself ever again. Certainly, the Grand Ayatollah should not be allowed to return to Iraq until this job is done.
The alternative, two 30,000 pound bunker-busting bombs, would be much worse for the Grand Ayatollah and his surrogate al Sadr mosquitoes.

WANING REFLECTED LIGHT OF THE MOON
BLAISE PASCAL, (1623-62).
Regarded as a brilliant man in his own time, Blaise Pascal reputedly made contributions to science, mathematics, and religious philosophy for all time. Reportedly his works, 'Les Provinciales' (Provincial Letters) and 'Pensees' (Thoughts), both religious, are considered masterpieces of prose.
Pascal was born in Clermont-Ferrand in central France on June 19, 1623. His father was a highly placed civil official. In 1631 the family moved to Paris. The elder Pascal took charge of his son's education. The boy proved to be a child prodigy. At the age of 12 he reputedly figured out a proposition of Euclidean geometry by himself.
By the time he was 17 he had written an essay on the EYE's conic sections. A pioneering work in projective geometry, it contained a theorem on conic sections that was named for him.
Between 1642 and 1644 Pascal constructed the first digital calculating machine in order to expedite his father's work with figures.
In 1646 Pascal was converted to Jansenism, a Roman Catholic reform movement, when he met two disciples of the abbot of St-Cyran. St-Cyran had brought to the convent of Port-Royal near Paris the Jansenist doctrines of a repudiation of free will and a belief in the divine 'g' race, rather than good works, as the key to salvation.
In science Pascal's further studies in geometry, hydrodynamics, and hydrostatic
and atmospheric pressure reportedly led him to the invention of the syringe and the hydraulic press. He described his experiments in two treatises (published after his death) in which he also established the principle of hydrostatics now known as Pascal's law.
Always in frail health, Pascal became ill from overwork. To relax he took up courtly social life, read philosophy, and resumed mathematical work. For friends who gambled, he calculated chances of loss or gain; this led him into pioneering work on probability theory and to the independent discovery of the arithmetical triangle. In a treatise on numerical powers, he deduced the principles of integral calculus.
On the night of Nov. 23, 1654, Pascal had what he described as a religious experience. He then went into retreat at Port-Royal. At this time a dispute between Jansenists and Jesuits over questions of the divine 'g' race and free will reached a crisis. An opponent of the Jesuits, Antoine Arnauld, was on trial before the faculty of theology at the Sorbonne in Paris for controversial writings.
Between January 1656 and March 1657 Pascal, using the pen name Louis de Montalte, wrote 18 letters defending Arnauld. 'Les Provinciales' captivated the public with their wit, style, and reasoning.
In 1657-58 he made notes for a book on the justification of Christianity. The notes were published after his death as 'Pensees'. In them Pascal argued that reason is but a limited tool, incapable of yielding ultimat
e truths about God (the Moho-Mandan), humanity, and the universe, and that human beings (boeings)--both ignorant and corrupt--must, therefore, rely on faith (what if).
Pascal's work on the 'Pensees' was terminated by a long illness resulting from a malignant stomach ulcer. He died in Paris on Aug. 19, 1662.

Celtic Life and Religion
The Celts were organized loosely in tribes. Each tribe had a chief, nobles, freemen, and slaves. Usually it lived in a fortified village, often built on a hilltop, with fields and pastures outside. The tribes often fought each other. If one tribe conquered several others, its chief took the title of king.
The Celts brought many new skills to the peoples they conquered. They knew how to smelt iron and forge it into useful implements. They decorated their helmets, shields, and arms with artistic metalwork and enameling.
The Celts were also adept in such practical matters as curing hams, keeping bees, and making wooden barrels.
Celtic priests were called druids, and their religion, druidism.
Little is known of the druids because their rites were never written down. Apparently their gods were similar to those of other early peoples. The druids of Gaul were both judges and priests who sacrificed criminals to their gods. The druids of Britain were chiefly religious teachers.
Only men of good family could become druids. Membership was highly prized because druids did not have to fight or pay taxes. The druids taught that the soul was immortal, passing after death from one person to another.

I have no idea how much the average Mason who joins Masonry pays in dues and penalties. I suspect many also 'purchase' degrees along the way.
No Mason who joins is ever given access to top secrets and only the son of the son of a Mason is ever used as a conduit for their big money.

MARIA THERESA (1717-80).
Called "the most human of the Hapsburgs," Maria Theresa was a key figure in the complex politics of Europe in the 1700s. Her father, the Holy Roman emperor Charles VI, tried to ensure her succession to his domains. She devoted much of her life to the fight to keep her lands.
Maria Theresa was born in Vienna on May 13, 1717. At the age of 23 she became archduchess of Austria and queen of Bohemia and Hungary. She also inherited outlying possessions of the house of Austria in Italy and the Netherlands. Various powers hoped to add to their territories at the expense of the inexperienced queen.
Maria Theresa had been on the throne only two months when Frederick marched his army southward into Silesia, the fertile valley of the Oder River that stretched southeastward from his own Brandenburg. Her Hungarian subjects failed in their attempts to expel Frederick from Silesia.
Maria Theresa's pride and her devout Roman Catholicism made her determined to recover her lost province from Protestant Prussia. She formed an alliance with Russia and then set about to win France as an ally against Prussia.
In 1772 Maria Theresa made up for the loss of Silesia by joining with Russia and Prussia in the first partition of Poland. Galicia was Austria's share.
Maria Theresa had 16 children. To strengthen the alliance with France, she marrie

California - The Great Basin
The Central Valley, or Great Valley of California, is a flat, oval cradle between the Sierra Nevada on the east and the Coast Ranges on the west. It is about 450 miles (720 kilometers) long and averages 50 miles (80 kilometers) in width. The Sacramento River, rising in the Cascades, drains the upper valley. The San Joaquin, with headwaters in the southern Sierra Nevada, drains the lower valley. Both rivers flow into San Francisco Bay.
The Great Basin appears along the eastern edge of California in two sections. It occupies the northeastern corner of the state and a section along the Nevada border, mainly in Mono and Inyo counties (see Nevada). Much of the northeastern section is made up of the Modoc Plateau, a barren highland with extensive lava beds. In the southeastern part of the Great Basin is Death Valley.
DEATH VALLEY
The lowest point in the Western Hemisphere, Death Valley is also famous as a scene of suffering in the gold rush of 1849. Here many gold seekers nearly lost their lives in searing heat. They reportedly gave the valley its grim name.
The valley is a deep trough between the Panamint Range on the west and the steep slopes of the Amargosa Range on the east. It is about 140 miles (225 kilometers) long and 4 to 16 miles (6 to 26 kilometers) wide. Kish, and then Babylon, became great capitals. They fell as Assur and Nineveh (Mosul) gained in power. Nineveh left civilization the first known library. Nineveh rose again after Assyria had destroyed it--rebuilt upon a far grander scale by Nebuchadnezzar II, the greatest of the Chaldean kings.
In about 600 BC
the Caucasian Indo-European peoples from the northern grasslands, who later conquered and settled all of Europe, started moving in and taking over this prized territory.
The first of these, the Medes, took Assyria and then fell before Cyrus the Great as the tan Persians spread their empire to the Mediterranean, entering Babylon in 539 BC.
Alexander the Great died in Babylon in 323 BC after adding this land to his many conquests. Then Roman legions came, but in AD 363 they gave way before Persia, whose Sassanid kings established their capital at Ctesiphon.
Finally the Arab Muslims took control of Mesopotamia in the 7th century AD. They soon developed into a major world power, and their caliphs built dazzling Baghdad for their capital.

Truth is a scary thing, especially when one has been living an illusion all their life.
Why is it that those who speak documented fact are given the derogatory label of "conspiracy theorist" and consequently, kooks and crackpots, ...by others who offer no meaningful rebuttal, but ultimately resort to scatological (BS) remarks with reference to well researched subjects?

Is fear of truth reason enough to hate the focussed researcher-analyst?

An automobile accident in 1969 that greatly affected the career of United States SENATOR Edward (Ted) KENNEDY of MASSACHUSETTS.

Who are the Basques?
The Basques are a people who live in a small region (about the size of Rhode Island) that straddles the border of Spain and France from the sea in the west into the Pyrenees in the east.
This area is called Euskal Herria (comprising seven provinces, historically: Araba, Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa, and Navarra on the Spanish side; Laburdi, Zuberoa, and Behe-Nafarroa on the French side). Basques speak a language called euskara, but today only about 25% of the population is fluent in that tongue. Although there are theories (none of them allowed to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt) that Basque is related to other languages (such as the Georgian family of languages in the Caucasus, or the Berber language family of Africa, or the Quechua language of Latin America, or even all of the above), so far the only thing most experts will say on the record is that Euskara is in a language family by itself. That is, it is not related to any other known language on the planet.
Euskara is, therefore, not an Indo-European language (the large Sinai group to which English, French, Spanish, and Russian belong).

CONSPIRACY
I KNOW NOT WHO YOU ARE
I, am a theorist, a researcher-analyst and proud of it.
Specifically, I theorize by examining the FACTS associated with the conspiracy called life.
That makes me a "conspiracy theorist" and that is good.
Albert Einstein in his day theorized about relativity. The Egyptians theorized about hydraulics and that is why they are known as "The Hydraulic Society".
Theory must not be confused with hypothesis (usually done on purpose) as most journalists are trained (tamed) to do. Hypothesis is a product solely of a mind. It is not based on FACTS. Hypothesis is itself a useful tool, but unlike theory as I said, it is not based on fact.
Theory is always based on fact.
My main theory is that the people of the world are living in slavery; they are "slaves who do their own shopping".
My premiss is that the world is controlled by two groups of men who wear dresses (and some lesbian women who act like men); mostly Monks, Arabs and Frankish Scots are in charge of the conspiracy, while lawyers, doctors, scientists, accountants, engineers and PHD university graduates are most often also predators on the people (but not all are sexual predators).
Ancient brotherhoods of sexual predators operate covertly, hiding behind the veil of numerous secret societies such as Ecclesiastic Freemasonry. Other types of predators operate overtly; in Organized Religion, Politics, Business and the Military. Both of these groups of predators view the rest of the people of the
planet as simple laboratory guinea pigs, to be used and abused for their own benefit.
We, the people, are used by them in 'stress' experiments which are designed primarily to test the effectiveness of their instruments of control. These mechanisms are; the massive worldwide genetic engineering of human beings into human boeings (operating on auto-pilot), living a life which is filled with recurring bouts of stress creating war, pestilence, famine and disease, etc..
The main goal of the modern overt controller is simply to become an elitist, while for the ancient hidden covert Monkish brotherhoods the plan is more long range. They aspire to fabricate a more perfect slave with which to replace us human beings and then export their learned control mechanisms beyond the boundaries of planet Earth, to the entire universe.
My job as a human being (zoion), is to uncover UR, Ultimate Reality.
I do this by sculpting away the BS which was first downloaded into my brain by all of my care-givers (parents, priests, teachers, politicians, police, press and other "media"). Then, I proceed to investigate the preponderance of the evidence that, eventually, leads me to overstand Ultimate Reality.
It is only when I do this search that, as a human being, I am truly free.
Once I had achieved a certain level of wisdom in overstanding, and not just understanding the conspiracy I live in, then my job became one of helping others who also want to overstand the mess we're in.
