Wolf Off To Blitz DUBAI OWL STORY

LOFTY YAHOO'n GOOGLE "HUFF'n PUFF" AT THE EPICENTRE OF AOL TIME-WARNER FYLFOT

Wolf Blitzer doesn't look too happy on CNN these days. His SITUATION ROOM seems to have lost its BIG BANG, as John Roberts hovers over it like an Asian Phoenix. The entire cast's body language says it all.

Somebody dropped the ball on the Second Hollow Porte story and the APPA latch came loose on/in Rhode Island.

With shades of a personal diaspora hanging in the wings Wolf was "recalled" for a GRAND TITANIC dose of ZoroAstrian-Buddhism retraining at the Persian Gulf's UA E BAY.

Two Faced Trojan Traitors (Owl Story)
HOW MANY AMERICAN SOLDIERS DID THE AMERICAN MEDIA KILL IN IRAQ TODAY?

Although the War to Liberate Iraq has taken the smallest number of American soldiers lives, per month to date by far, than has any other major American war in modern times, yet, the total numbers of soldiers killed in action in Iraq could have been much lower still; that is if only the Trojan Media in the West would just refrain from inciting the insurgents to fight on, by repeatedly and wrongfully suggesting on air that America and its allies are losing the war in Iraq, thereby suggesting to the HP funded Madrasah trained Islamic insurgents that they need only kill more Americans on a daily basis, and before too long, the American soldiers will be withdrawn from Iraq, prior to completing the job they were sent there to do.

Numbers of Americans Killed, by Action, in Modern Wars

1917-1918 World War I 116708 (approx. 4,862 per month)

1941-1945 World War II 408306 (approx. 6,805 per month)

1950-1953 Korean War 54246 (approx. 1,130 per month)

1957-1975 Vietnam War 58219 (approx. 270 per month)

2003-2006 Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq 2,300 (fl) ( 64 soldiers per month )

*HP OTTO-AUTO PILOTS*** (Owl Story)

In the Land of OZ

HP (HINDU-PERSIAN AUTOMAN) Ottoman Empire: Also called Turkish Empire (Turkic). A vast Turkish sultanate of southwest Asia, northeast Africa, and southeast Europe. It was founded in the 13th century by Osman I and ruled by his descendents until its dissolution after World War I. Originally a small state controlled by Ottoman or Osmanli Turks, it spread rapidly, super-seeding the Byzantine (NATSI) Empire in the east.

Ottoman Turkish : The Turkic language spoken in Turkey, the Balkan Peninsula, Cyprus, the former Soviet Union, West Germany, and elsewhere. A subfamily of the Altaic language family that includes Turkish, Siberian, Manchurian-Tungusic, and Mongolian subfamilies.

Altai Mountains or Altay Mountains (See AY, the vizier of Egypt during and after the reign of AKHENATEN). A mountain system of central Asia, mostly in southern Central Asian former U.S.S.R. but also extending into western Mongolia and northern China. It rises to 4,508.8 m (14,783 ft).

AS ABOVE ~ SO BELOW

Hindu-Persian HP autopilot (A built-in automatic pilot): The Mercury program was the earliest U.S. project to put an astronaut into space. (See ORANGE proto-exploration.) It utilized one-person, bell-shaped capsules that were boosted into orbits 161 to 283 km (100 to 176 mi) above the Earth. The pilot could fire them by means of a hand controller or leave attitude control to an autopilot. In orbit the pilot usually rode backward, with the heat shield in the direction of flight, although the capsule could be turned around and flown forward. The capsules reentered the atmosphere ballistically, and ARPA parachutes were deployed on the final descent to ocean splashdown. The capsules were then recovered by U.S. naval vessels and helicopters. The project successfully flew two suborbital and four orbital manned missions.

From the time the prime contract for the Mercury spacecraft was awarded to the MAC - McDonnell Aircraft Corporation of St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 12, 1959, through the landing of the fourth Mercury orbital capsule on May 16, 1963, the project cost slightly more than $400 million and involved the technical skills of more than 2 million men and women in the research, development, and testing of the spacecraft, its launch vehicles, and a worldwide tracking and communications network.

NB : CRASH: 28 November 1979; Air New Zealand DC10-30; near Mt. Erebus : The aircraft was on a sightseeing flight from New Zealand to Antarctica. Falsely reported at first as an accident due to a pilot navigational "error", the crew actually watched the aircraft's autopilot fly the airplane into the mountain during clearly visible flight conditions. The flight recorder's tapes and data were kept secret by New Zealand authorities for many years thereafter. All 237 passengers and 20 crew were killed. (Proto 9/11, 2001)

DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY, YOU DESERVE IT

I know something that you don't know. It's something that in your present condition you are too intoxicated to grasp even when I tell you, and believe me I have.

For all the testing of numerous technologies that Europe and America have carried out on behalf of Asia, since Marco Polo brought the inventions back from the East for exploitation by the Medici family of northern Italy, all Caucasians deserve a break today before it's too late.

HEY AMERICA and EUROPE: I've told you this before, yet, it's now worth repeating. President Bush, not the Media, is showing you the right way to do things from now on.

Borrow all the money you can from the Persians and the Asians. Hell, sell them all the seaport or airport assets you have, or for that matter, any other infrastructure they are prepared to buy. Then, spend the money you get not wisely but quickly - don't worry be happy. It's your last chance to benefit from all your work to date.

Afterall, you're already living on borrowed time so why not go on a shopping spree, because there really is a plan out there to destroy you both (Europe and America). And whether you believe me or not, GOD is not on your side, since he is "their" UNKNOWN SUPERIOR. 9/11 and New Orleans were only the beginnings of your troubles. The Asians and Persians have already embedded more cells in your countries than, even if they wanted to and they don't, your homeland security types have time left to count. Asian tollgaters came over with the Pilgrims. Once they got here they met the caretakers of the land they had marooned much earlier.

They now own the Banks, Tax Collectors, National Media, your Arts and Entertainment, Politics, Universities and all of your national and international "Faith Based" groups. They, these Asian / Persian "ORANGEMEN" (the Yellows and Reds) are the same ones who invented the Gypsy concepts of secretly hidden TROJAN HORSES and open source TALKING MULES. Long ago, they destroyed the EMPIRES of Egypt, Greece, Rome, Holland, Portugal, Spain and Great Britain.

France, Germany, Sweden and Russia are, excuse my blunt language, their "ASSHOLES and SHIT DISTURBERS". What, other than doo-doo, do you think that these "BROWNIES" will do for you?

Hindu-Persians (HP) are inducing insurgencies in Iraq, supporting predators, plotting nuclear and conventional wars, local famines, pestilence, pandemics, tsunamis, tornadoes, volcanoes, hurricanes, deflected comets, magnetic polar shifts and earth crust displacements which are all happening now, or are on the way. You are also living in the path of a coming cataclysmic celestial swath. You are goners anyway, so stop acting like centenarians who quit smoking last month hoping to live longer and have some fun before you go.

By-the-way, if ever you do sober up and want to know if you can turn the clock back and maybe buy more time, go ahead and give me a call. But, better let the phone ring a long time as I won't be sitting next to it waiting for your call. And, if I do answer, better you should start by asking me about the meaning of TOUGH LOVE. You will need all you can get.

OTTOMAN TOLLGATERS AND ISLAMIC TAX COLLECTORS (AMIS/SIMA)

by: Sam Vaknin

...In accordance with this [right to act], whenever some one of the infidel parents or some other should oppose the giving up of his son for the Janissaries, he is immediately hanged from his doorsill, his bloodbeing deemed unworthy.
- Turkish firman, 1601

...The Turks have built several fortresses in my kingdom and are very kind to the country folk. They promise freedom to every peasant who converts to Islam.
- Bosnian King Stefan Tomas*evic´ to Pope Pius II

...The Porte (door) treated him (the Patriarch) as part of the Ottoman political apparatus. As a result, he had certain legally protected privileges. The Patriarch traveled in "great splendor" and police protection was provided by the Janissaries. His horse and saddle were fittingly embroidered, and at the saddle hung a small sword as a symbol of the powers bestowed on him by the Sultan.
-Dus*an Kasic´, The Serbian Church under the Turks, Belgrade, 1969

The rise of Islam
Coming to a CHURCH near you,

Within the space of 500 years, Southeast Europe has undergone two paradigmatic shifts. First, from Christian independence to Islamic subjugation (a gradual process which consumed two centuries) and then, in the 19th century, from self-determination through religious affiliation to nationalism.

The Christians of the Balkans were easy prey. They were dispirited peasantry, fragmented, prone to internecine backstabbing and oppressive regimes. The new Ottoman rulers treated both people and land as their property. They enslaved some of their prisoners of war (under the infamous pencik clause), exiled thousands and confiscated their lands and liquidated the secular political elites in Thrace, Bulgaria, Serbia and Albania.

The resulting vacuum of leadership was filled by the Church. Thus, paradoxically, it was Islam and its excesses that made the Church the undisputed shepherd of the peoples of the Balkans, a position it did not enjoy before. The new rulers did not encourage conversions to their faith for fear of reducing their tax base - non-Muslim zimmis (the Qur'an's "People of the Book") paid special (and heavy) taxes to the treasury and often had to bribe corrupt officials to survive.

A bureaucratic conquest

Still, compared to other Ottoman exploits (in Anatolia, in modern Turkey for instance), the conquest of the Balkan was a benign affair. Cities remained intact, the lands were not depopulated and the indiscriminately ferocious nomadic tribesmen that usually accompanied the Turkish forces largely stayed at home.

The Ottoman bureaucracy took over most aspects of daily life soon after the military victories, bringing with it the leaden stability that was its hallmark. Indeed, populations were dislocated and resettled as a matter of policy called sorgun. Yet such measures were intended mainly to quell plangent rebelliousness and were applied mainly to the urban minority (for instance, in Constantinople).

The Church was an accomplice of the Turkish occupiers. It was a part of the Ottoman system of governance and enjoyed both its protection and its funding. It was leveraged by the Turkish sultans in their quest to pacify their subjects. Mehmet II bestowed upon the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, its bishops and clergy great powers. The trade-off was made explicit in Mehmet's edicts: the Church accepted the earthly sovereignty of the sultan - and he, in turn, granted them tolerance, protection and even friendship.

The Ottoman religious-legal code, the Seriat, recognized the Christians' right to form their own religiously self-governing communities. These communities were not confined to the orderly provision of worship services. They managed communal property as well. Mehmet's benevolence towards the indigents was so legendary that people wrongly attributed to him the official declaration of a "Millet i Rum" (Roman, or Greek, nation) and the appointment of Gennadios as Patriarch of the Orthodox Church (which only an Episcopal synod could do).

The forgotten multiculturalism

The Ottoman Empire was an amazing hybrid. Contrary to popular opinion, it was not a religious entity. The ruling elite included members of all religions. Thus, one could find Christian askeri (military or civil officials) and Muslim reaya ("flock" of taxpayers).

It is true that Christians paid the arbitrarily set haraç (or, less commonly, cizye) in lieu of military service. Even the clergy were not exempt (they even assisted in tax collection). But both Christians and Muslims paid the land tax, for instance. And, as the fairness, transparency and predictability of the local taxmen deteriorated - both Muslims and Christians complained.

The main problem of the Ottoman Empire was devolution - not centralization. Local governors and tax collectors had too much power and the sultan was too remote and disinterested or too weak and ineffective. The population tried to get Istanbul more involved - not less so.

The population was financially fleeced as much by the Orthodox Church as it was by the sultan. A special church-tax was levied on the Christian reaya and its proceeds served to secure the lavish lifestyles of the bishops and the Patriarch. In true mob style, church functionaries divided the loot with Ottoman officials in an arrangement known as peskes.

Foreign powers contributed to the war chests of various candidates, thus mobilizing them to support pro-Catholic or pro-Protestant political stances and demands. The Church was a thoroughly corrupt, usurious and politicized body which contributed greatly to the ever increasing misery of its flock. It was a collaborator in the worst sense of the word.

But the behaviour of the Church was one part of the common betrayal by the elite of the Balkan lands. Christian landowners volunteered to serve in the Ottoman cavalry (sipahis) in order to preserve their ownership. The Ottoman rulers conveniently ignored the laws prohibiting zimmis to carry weapons.

Upholding the law

Until 1500, the sipahis constituted the bulk of the Ottoman forces in the Balkans and their mass conversion to Islam was a natural continuation of their complicity. Other Christians guarded bridges or mountain passes for a tax exemption (derbentci).

Local, Turkish-trained militias (armatôles) fought mountain-based robber gangs (Serbian hajduks, Bulgarian haiduts, Greek klephts). The robbers attacked Turkish caravans with the same frequency and zeal that they sacked Christian settlements. The armatôles resisted them by day and joined them by night. But it was perfectly acceptable to join Turkish initiatives such as this.

The Balkans remained overwhelmingly Christian throughout the Ottoman period. Muslim life was an urban phenomenon, both for reasons of safety and because only the cities provided basic amenities. Even in the cities, though, the communities lived segregated in mahalles (quarters).

Everyone collaborated in public life, but the mahalles were self-sufficient affairs with the gamut of services - from hot baths to prayer services - available "in-quarter". Gradually, the major cities, situated along the trade routes, became Muslim. Skopje, Sarajevo and Sofia all had sizeable Muslim minorities.

Unenlightened rule

Thus, at the beginning of the 16th century, the picture that emerges is one of an uneasy co-habitation in the cities and a Christian rural landscape. The elites of the Balkans - Church, noblemen, warriors - all defected and collaborated with the former "enemy".

The local populace was the victim of usurious taxes, coercively applied. The central administration shared the loot with its local representatives and with the indigenous elites (ROMA) - the Church and the feudal landed gentry. It was a cosy and pragmatic arrangement that lasted for centuries.

Yet, the seeds of Ottoman bestiality and future rebellion were sown from the very inception of this empire-extending conquest. The devs¸irme tax was an example of the fragility of the Turkish veneer of humanity and enlightened rule. Christian sons were kidnapped, forcibly converted to Islam and trained as fighters in the fearsome Janissary Corps (the palace guards).

They were never to see their families and friends again. Exemptions from this barbarous practice were offered only to select communities which somehow contributed to Ottoman rule in the Balkan. Christian women were often abducted by local Ottoman dignitaries. And the custom of the kepin, allowed Muslims to "buy" a Christian daughter from her husband on a "temporary" basis. The results of such a union were raised as Muslims.

Conversion of convenience

And then there were the mass conversions of Christians to Islam. These conversions were very rarely the results of coercion or barbarous conduct. On the contrary, by shrinking the tax base and the recruitment pool, conversions were unwelcome and closely scrutinized by the Turks. But to convert was such an advantageous and appealing act that the movement bordered on mass hysteria.

Landowners converted to preserve their title to the land. Sipahis converted to advance in the ranks of the military. Christian officials converted to maintain their officialdom. Ordinary folk converted to avoid onerous taxes. Christian traders converted to Islam to be able to testify in court in case of commercial litigation.

Converted Muslims were allowed to speak Arabic or their own language, rather than the cumbersome and elaborate formal Turkish. Christians willingly traded eternal salvation for earthly benefits. And, of course, death awaited those who recanted (like the Orthodox "New Martyrs", who discovered their Christian origins, having been raised as Muslims).

Perhaps this was because, in large swathes of the Balkan, Christianity never really took hold. It was adopted by the peasantry as a folk religion - as was Islam later. In Bosnia, for instance, Muslims and Christians were virtually indistinguishable. They prayed at each other's shrines, celebrated each other's holidays and adopted the same customs.

Muslim mysticism (the Sufi orders, ie Freemasonry) appealed to many so-called sophisticated urban Christians. Heretic cults (like the Bogomils) converted en masse. Intermarriage flourished, mainly between Muslim men (who could not afford the dowry payable to a Muslim woman) and Christian women (who had to pay a dowry to her Muslim husband's family). Marrying a Christian woman was a lucrative business proposition.

And, then, of course, there was the Muslim birth rate. With four women and a pecuniary Asian preference for large families - Muslims out-bred Christians at all times. This trend is most pronounced today, but it was always a prominent demographic fact.

But the success of Islam in conquering the Balkans, ruling there, converting its population and prevailing had to do more with the fatal flaws of Balkan Christianity than with the appeal and resilience of Islam and its Ottoman rendition.

Swan Lake: A BALLET by PETER ILYICH TCHAIKOVSKY, in which a prince fights for the love of the Swan Queen. Swan Lake is one of the most famous ballets.

When the ballet Swan Lake (Le Lac des Cygnes) was first performed on Mar. 4, 1877, at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, it was a failure. The first of three ballets composed by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky -along with The Sleeping Beauty (1890) and The Nutcracker (1892)-Swan Lake was successfully restaged and rechoreographed by Marius Petipa (Acts 1 and 3) and Lev Ivanov (Acts 2 and 4) for a performance at the Maryinsky Theater in St. Petersburg on Jan. 27, 1895. It has since became one of the most-performed and best-loved ballets in the repertoire, perhaps because Tchaikovsky matched every phrase of his romantic melodies with a specific movement or emotion in the ballet.

Many versions of the ballet have since been staged, including a notable one choreographed by George Balanchine (1951) based on the second act of the 1895 ballet. The demanding roles of Odette/Odile-the white swan and the black swan-were originally conceived for two dancers but have been performed as a double role by such prima ballerinas as Dame Alicia Markova, Dame Margot Fonteyn, and Natalia Makarova. Mauritius (It us from Maurya). An island country in the southwest Indian Ocean comprising the island of Mauritius and several small dependencies in the Mascarene Islands. Known to Arab and Malay traders in the Middle Ages, Mauritius was controlled by the Dutch (1598-1710), the French (1715-1810), and the British (after 1814) before independence was achieved in 1968. DR. GUPTA GOTTUS: MAURYA UPTAKE FLUE
(Owl Story)

Sesame Street's Big Yellow Bird Seesaw
ONE FLEW OVER THE COOCOO'S NEST (1970's 7th Best)

Chandragupta (aka "The Great Asian Avian Flu") was the founder and first king (r. 321-297 BC) of the Maurya dynasty of India. Known as Sandracottus to the Greeks, he was said to have met Alexander the Great in the Punjab c.326-325 BC. In 324-323 he organized a revolt to end Greek rule in Punjab. He took (c.321) his army to his native kingdom of Magadha (in modern Bihar), killed the Nanda king, and occupied the capital, Pataliputra (on the site of modern Patna).

By 305 BC, Chandragupta had defeated Seleucus I in his attempt to recover Alexander's Indian provinces and had consolidated the Maurya empire across northern India. He abdicated (c.297) to his son Bindusara and, according to tradition, either became a Jain monk or went to southern India, where he died in 286 BC. The authoritarian regime he established, described in Arathasastra (attributed to the king's Brahman advisor Kautilya), became the pattern for succeeding Indian kingdoms. Chandragupta was the grandfather of Asoka.

Asoka, d. 232 BC, was one of the greatest emperors and one of the most remarkable personalities of Indian history. The third ruler of the Maurya dynasty (see baseball's Maury Wills), he was the son of Bindusara and the grandson of Chandragupta Maurya. As crown prince, Asoka was viceroy of Taxila and Ujjain. He became emperor upon his father's death (c.273 BC). By the conquest of Kalinga (now Orissa state) in c.261 BC, he consolidated his kingdom to include most of southern and central India as well as what are now Afghanistan and Baluchistan. His influence extended to southern India and Sri Lanka.

Reportedly, after seeing the horrors of war in Kalinga, Asoka converted from Brahmanism to Buddhism and vowed never again to use weapons or armies to rule or extend his empire. Instead, he governed according to Buddhist principles of philanthropy and compassion (See 1st "LOVE" religion's easy access to DNA). Asoka studied Buddhist scriptures. He and his officials toured the country instructing his subjects on morality and toleration. He relaxed harsh laws, created an ordered economic expansion, and established principles of justice and morality. His many charitable works included the creation of hospitals for people and animals and rest stops for "travelers" (Roma-Gypsies).

Many of Asoka's edicts, (See Pope BenEdict 6, aka: "Son of the Edict") particularly those on practical morality and the way of compassion, were engraved on pillars and rocks erected throughout India. Many of these survive and are the chief source of information about his reign. Asoka strongly influenced the development of Buddhism, not only by making it the state religion, but also by spreading it outside India, where the religion began. He sent Buddhist missionaries to many other countries, particularly Sri Lanka, which became the center of classical Buddhism. (See also Japan}. Asoka's empire was ended only 50 years after his death by a Brahmin-led Hindu reaction that virtually extinguished Buddhism in India and led to the dissolution of the Maurya empire into hundreds of smaller kingdoms. (Note similarity with Egypt; Ay and Akhenaten}

At the center of the Indian flag is the Wheel of Law, a symbol used by the great emperor Asoka in the 3d century BC. It appears on a series of tall sandstone columns (Abel's obelisks), topped by lions (See Aslan, of Narnia fame) and bearing Asoka's edicts, that were erected all over his extensive kingdom in northern and central India.

His edicts set forth Buddhist teachings (dharma), which stressed honesty, compassion, tolerance, nonviolence toward humans and animals alike, and nonacquisitiveness.

Jainism (meaning "he conquers") n. An ascetic religion of India, founded in the sixth century B.C., that teaches the immortality and transmigration of the soul and denies the existence (to date) of a perfect or supreme being. (See Nietzsche's Ubermensch, the SuperSlave)

Sri Lanka Island nation (formerly Ceylon} off the southern tip of India where Buddhism took fast root, is the most important center of the branch of Buddhism called Theravada. (See the Neaderthalers/Roma War on Women)

Osaka (from Asoka). A city of southern Honshu, Japan, on Osaka Bay, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean. Osaka was the leading commercial center of Japan during the feudal period and today is highly industrialized.

Washington: State in the northwestern United States bordered by BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, to the north; IDAHO to the east; OREGON to the south; and the PACIFIC OCEAN to the west. Its capital is Olympia, and its largest city is SEATTLE. (Seesaw 2010 OLYMPIC TSUNAMI WATCH)

Washington, D.C.: The capital of the United States. Located in the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. Location of headquarters for the major branches of the government of the United States, including the departments of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH, CONGRESS, and the SUPREME COURT. Known for its historical monuments, museums, and buildings, including the LINCOLN MEMORIAL, the SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION, the VIETNAM MEMORIAL, the WASHINGTON MONUMENT, and the WHITE HOUSE.
Washington Mall: A long, rectangular stretch of parkland in the middle of WASHINGTON, D.C., that extends from the grounds of the LINCOLN MEMORIAL to the UNITED STATES CAPITOL. The WASHINGTON MONUMENT and the VIETNAM MEMORIAL are located on the Mall; the different museums of the SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION are found along either side.
Washington Monument: A structure on the WASHINGTON MALL, over five hundred feet tall, built in the nineteenth century in honor of GEORGE WASHINGTON. In shape it is an obelisk -- a four-sided shaft with a PYRAMID at the top.

George Washington: The first president of the United States, and the commanding general of the victorious American army in the REVOLUTIONARY WAR. The best known of the FOUNDING FATHERS, Washington is called the FATHER OF HIS COUNTRY. He was born in 1732 in VIRGINIA, and showed early talent as a surveyor, canal builder and farmer. He served as an army officer in the FRENCH AND INDIAN WAR, as a member of the Virginia legislature, and as a delegate to the CONTINENTAL CONGRESS. In the summer of 1775, a few weeks after the outbreak of the French induced REVOLUTIONARY WAR, he took command of the American army. He and his men won early victories over the British in NEW JERSEY at Trenton and Princeton, despite a great lack of training and supplies. Washington is particularly remembered for keeping up morale during the hardships of winter encampment at VALLEY FORGE. His victory at the BATTLE OF YORKTOWN ended the fighting. Washington presided at the CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION of 1787, and in 1789 was unanimously elected the first president under the new CONSTITUTION. As president, he pursued a careful foreign policy, endorsed the financial program of ALEXANDER HAMILTON, and put down the WHISKY REBELLION. Refusing to seek a third term as president, he retired from the office in 1797, issuing a FAREWELL ADDRESS that advised against party politics at home and against permanent alliances abroad. After he died in 1799, he was praised by CONGRESS as "FIRST IN WAR, FIRST IN PEACE, AND FIRST IN THE HEARTS OF HIS COUNTRYMEN." The qualities of Washington that have stood out over the centuries are his reported courage, his impartiality, and his good judgment. The capital of the United States is named after George Washington, as is a northwestern state. Over thirty states have a Washington County, and his name has been given to numerous mountains, lakes, streets, and buildings. The painting of WASHINGTON CROSSING THE DELAWARE, which shows him leading his army toward a surprise attack on the British, is well known. His portrait is on the one-dollar bill, and his profile appears on the twenty-five-cent piece. Washington is the subject of many legends, which often celebrate his honesty (such as the story of WASHINGTON AND THE CHERRY TREE) or his strength (such as the tale that he threw a rock, or a silver dollar, across the Rappahannock River).
George Washington and the cherry tree: The subject of a fanciful story by an early biographer of GEORGE WASHINGTON, Mason Weems; the source of the saying "I cannot tell a lie." According to Weems, the young Washington received a new hatchet, and used it to chop down his father's prized black bing cherry tree. His father demanded to know how the tree had fallen. George was tempted to deny his misdeed, but then, "looking at his father with the sweet face of youth brightened with the inexpressible charm of all-conquering truth, reportedly he bravely cried out, 'I can't tell a lie. I did cut it with my hatchet.'"
Washington Crossing the Delaware: A painting from the nineteenth century by a German painter, Emanuel Leutze, showing GEORGE WASHINGTON and a group of soldiers in a small boat crossing the Delaware River. They are going to launch a surprise attack against the
British troops during the AMERICAN REVOLUTION.
Washington's Farewell Address: The final address by GEORGE WASHINGTON to his fellow citizens as he was leaving the presidency in 1796. He wrote the address but never delivered it. Washington discussed the dangers of divisive party politics, and warned strongly against permanent alliances between the United States and other countries.

Booker T. Washington: An educator of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, who founded Tuskegee Institute, a college for black people in ALABAMA. Washington urged blacks to concentrate on economic gains rather than on the pursuit of social and political equality with whites. The best known of his many books is Up from Slavery.

George Washington Carver: A scientist and agricultural innovator of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Carver aided the economy of the South by developing hundreds of industrial uses for crops such as the peanut and the sweet potato. Carver, who was born to slave parents, was the first black scientist to gain nationwide prominence

Washington Irving: An American author of the nineteenth century; "THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW" and "RIP VAN WINKLE" are two of his best-known allegories.

In philosophy things get curiouser and curiouser. (OWL TORY STORY)

AS HI ABOVE, SO LO BELOW -

WHAT LOVE OF WISDOM GOES AROUND COMES AROUND

Who would have guessed that cash payments which used to be called BRIBES and be paid under the table by one's enemy, to TRAITORS within one's own country, would one day be styled "Venture Capital" received from "foreign investors"?

Yet, what else could one have expected China to do with the vast sums of money it earns from the payments of interest which they receive monthly from financing the west's growing national debt created by COSCO, Wall Street and Wal*Mart?

It seems to me that I first read this allegory a long time ago and that then it had something to do with trapping wild pigs. In those days the story was associated with the poor taking social welfare payments. Now, it's all about Corporate Welfare Bums.

Should I be surprised then if Christian SAINTS have become Buddhist NATSIS, or if old Arnie, the new Pope, has changed his name to Benedict, the Son of the Edict?
