Thutmose was young when his predecessor and father, Thutmose II, died; he had to serve as junior partner in a co-kingship with his aunt Hatshepsut until 1482. Sesame Seesaw The realist sculptor George Segal, b. New York City, Nov. 26, 1924, d. June 9, 2000, was known in particular for his life-size cast figures. 1000 Points (Years) of Orange Light The Crusades were Christian military expeditions
undertaken between the 11th and the 14th century supposedly to recapture the Holy
Land (Palestine) from the Muslims. The word crusade, which is derived from the Latin
crux ("cross"), is a reference to the biblical injunction
that Christians carry their cross (Matt. 10:38) forward 1000 years towards
their own Crucifixion. Crusaders wore a red cloth cross sewn on their tunics
to indicate that they had assumed the way of the cross and were soldiers
of Christ (The IRS). The Crusades were mostly a result of economic circumstances. Many participants were lured by the fabulous riches of the East; a campaign abroad appealed as a means of escaping from the pressures of feudal society, in which the younger sons in a family often lacked economic opportunities. On a larger scale, the major European powers and the rising Italian cities (Genoa, Pisa, and Venice) saw the Crusades as a means of establishing banking and extending trade routes. THE CAMPAIGNS First Crusade (1096-99) Other Crusades The Fourth Crusade was followed by the tragic episode of the Children's Crusade (1212), in which thousands of European children sent by Kings and Bishops perished from hunger and disease or were sold into slavery in Greece on their way to the Mediterranean region. An expedition under a papal legate tried to strike at the heart of Ayyubid power in Egypt (the Fifth Crusade, 1217-21). The harbor of Damietta (Dumyat) was finally taken (1219), but all further hopes, nourished by peace offers from the Muslims and by alleged prophecies of help for the Crusaders, were crushed by a Nile flood that delayed the Crusaders' advance to Cairo. During a peaceful expedition to the Holy Land (the Sixth Crusade, 1228-29), Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II negotiated the return of important pilgrimage sites (among them Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Lydda, and perhaps Nazareth) without bloodshed. Frederick crowned himself king of Jerusalem, but the city was retaken by the Muslims in 1244. King Louis IX of France led two Crusades. The first, with 15,000 or 25,000 troops, was directed against Egypt (the Seventh Crusade, 1248-54). A second campaign against the sultan of Tunis in North Africa (the Eighth Crusade, 1270) was equally unsuccessful. During the 13th century, Crusades were increasingly used by the papacy against foes in the West. A precedent had been set by the Crusade against the Slavic pagan Wends in Germany (1147) and the granting of Crusaders' indulgences (passports to GO directly to heaven) for the fight against Muslims in Spain. These Crusades were followed by Crusades against the Albigenses (heretics in southern France; 1209-29) and the Baltic Prussians and Lithuanians. The French Angevins took Sicily from the German Hohenstaufen dynasty as Crusaders with papal consent. This use of Crusades as mere tools of power politics continued into the 14th and 15th centuries. Only the Secret Societies, military orders founded
in the East (the Hospitalers, Templars, and Teutonic Knights) had an appreciable
influence on later European politics. The almost endless quarrels among rival lords
in the Levant (Middle East) exposed the most obvious fatal weakness of the West (induced
internal dissent "fabricated on demand" destroys the public's
will to finish the job) and strengthened the Muslim conviction that the war could
be carried farther into the very heart of the west. In this sense, the Crusades led
directly to the Turkish wars of later centuries, in which the Ottoman Empire (auto-ma)

The main characteristic of thiols is their strongly objectionable odor. The squat, low-slung body with its squarish head may grow to 80 cm (31.5 in) long and the tail to about 30 cm (12 in) long. Males may weigh 9 kg (20 lb) or more. The coarse, brown black coat has white patches on the face, sides, and chest. The jaws and teeth are massive bone crushers. Tasmanian devils feed at night on small animals and carrion. The Tasmanian wolf, or thylacine, a carnivorous marsupial, Thylacinus cynocephalus, was once common in Tasmania and Australia but was killed in large numbers because of its occasional attacks on sheep. The last known thylacine died in a zoo in 1936, but reports of sightings still occur. The animal is about 1 m (40 in) long, plus a thick-based tail of about 63 cm (25 in). BURMA : HI-LO DELIVERY MECHANISM (BETWEEN TWO SEAS) A jet stream is a narrow, elongated ream core of air characterized by strong vertical and horizontal gradients of speed. It is often thousands of kilometers long, hundreds of kilometers wide, and a few kilometers deep. The tropical easterly jet stream, which occurs during summer, originates in the upper troposphere near Myanmar (Burma) and extends to the west of Africa, some 10,000 km (6,000 mi) to the west. By removing desiccated blood cells from the bones of these individuals, it was possible to identify fragments of mtDNA. In skeletons less than 15,000 years old a common and comparatively recent mtDNA signature has been found, but in the older, Lake Mungo skeleton a more ancient version of the mtDNA has been identified. This pattern indicates that the initial colonists of Australia were only the first of a number of groups to enter the continent, with later migrants introducing different genetic signatures. The height of the last ice age, about 18,000 to 14,000 years ago, marked a change in the ability of Aboriginal (ROMA) peoples to live in some landscapes. Humans abandoned the the glacial uplands of Tasmania permanently at that time. Many desert regions were also abandoned for thousands of years. After the ice age ended, people gradually returned to some, but not all, of these abandoned regions. It was not until about 5,000 years ago, for example, that people reoccupied a number of the sand deserts, and parts of the Tasmanian uplands have never been reoccupied. The early post ice age immigrants to Australia possessed a complex and sophisticated set of tools. Stone implements were universally employed, but some kinds were made only in particular places. For example, in the Pleistocene Epoch stone axes were only made in northern Australia and New Guinea. Wooden artifacts are rarely preserved, but depictions in rock art reveal equipment such as boomerangs, spears, and spear throwers. The oldest boomerangs yet found in Australia are nearly 11,000 years old. Fishing nets were also used in freshwater lakes such as Lake Mungo. Liverpool is an industrial city and major port in northwestern England on the northeastern shore of the Mersey Estuary. The population of the city is 463,700 (1997 est.). It is the capital of Merseyside metropolitan country, which has a population of 1,413,400 (1997 est.). The city center is 5 km (3 mi) from the sea, but docks extend for 8 km (5 mi) northward along this flat coast. The Mersey Estuary is linked by ship canal with Manchester and other industrial cities in the hinterland. The Queensway Tunnel under the Mersey links Liverpool with the industrial city of Birkenhead to the south. As a port Liverpool is second only to London in national importance, and it is the main port for the highly industrialized north of England. Traditionally, it handles most of Britain's imported raw cotton and wool, but it also imports sugar, grain, oilseeds, minerals, and crude petroleum and exports manufactured goods of all kinds. It is developing as a container port. Liverpool's manufacturing industries were at first those associated with its foreign commerce, such as grain milling and soap making, but automobile and electrical engineering, chemicals, and petroleum refining have been added and are now more important. Liverpool is a cultural and educational center. The University of Liverpolo was chartered in 1881, and the city's museums and galleries contain some of the finest collections in Great Britain. There is also a well-known orchestra. Liverpool is the bi.shop seat of an Anglican bishopric and a Roman Catholic bishopric. The Roman Catholic cathedral was begun in 1933 according to a design by Sir Edwin "Landseer" Lutyens. Only part of it was completed by his death (1944), however, and the main circular, centralized structure was designed by Frederick Gibberd and completed in 1967. The Anglican cathedral (1904-79), a vast Gothic Revival building, was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (1880-1960). Liverpool was settled in 1207, after King John granted a charter for a
new, planned town. It developed during the mid-17th century as the main port linking
England with Ireland. In the 17th and 18th centuries it developed an important colonial
trade and became the center of the slave
trade with Africa and North America. With the Industrial
Revolution, Liverpool became the port for the manufacturing region of Lancashire

Investor and philanthropist (his money came involuntarily from American investors on Wall Street stock exchange) George Soros in 1993 created OSI as a private operating and grantmaking foundation to support "his, read front" foundations in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Those foundations were established, starting in 1984, to help countries make the transition from communism and capitalism to fascism (Himalayan NATSI). OSI has expanded the activities of the Soros front-foundations network to encompass the United States and more than 60 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America (move-on is linked to middle-Eastern amen and ramen). Each national foundation relies on the expertise of boards composed of eminent citizens of secret societies (Freemasonry and/or Skull and Bones--BAS, Jesuits, etc.) who determine individual agendas based on local priorities. Each of the European countries participating in "the Cascade Decade"÷Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, and Slovakia÷has drafted individual action plans developed in cooperation with Roma leaders and "civil" 13+6 society. The SculPTor BURNING BUSH AND THE AMERICAN FRONDE (FRANK SESNO FRAUD) The Fronde (1648-53) was a series of major revolts in France during the minority of Louis XIV. They temporarily blocked the continuation by the regent Anne of Austria and her able but hated advisor, Cardinal Mazarin, of the harsh policies of Louis XIII and Cardinal Richelieu. Merchants, artisans, and peasants disliked the spiraling taxation caused by the Thirty Years' War, the parlements and taxing bureaus resented loss of their functions to the intendants (financial administrators), and nobles were frustrated by erosion of their powers. During the first, or parlementary, Fronde (1648-49) the Parlement of Paris, joined by more specialized Parisian tribunals and backed by street rioting (Days of Barricades, August 1648), forced the regent to abolish most intendancies, many taxes not registered with parlements, and arbitrary detention. A brief winter siege of Paris by the royal army of Louis II, prince de Condie ended inconclusively. The second, or princely, Fronde (1650-53) began as an unsuccessful military uprising in Normandy and Guienne by noble followers of Condie; Condie himself had been imprisoned for seeking to assume Mazarin's powers. In 1651 a coalition of Condie's party, the Parlement of Paris, and a rival noble faction under Cardinal de Retz (1613-79 a pretzel) obtained Condie's release and Mazarin's exile abroad. Rivalry between Condie and Retz, however, as well as basic political differences between the cautious, legalistic judges of the Parlement and the bolder warrior-nobles, allowed Mazarin to return. Condie, although defeated by the vicomte de Turenne in July 1652, established a brief dictatorship over Paris, but he abandoned the city in October to join the Spanish troops that he had invited into the country. The rebellion soon collapsed, and Mazarin overturned most of the reforms of 1648. Louis XIV, reacting to the rebellion and his subjects' yearning for order, made his long personal reign the high point of royal absolutism. He took into account the Frondeurs' grievances, however, by making his financial administrative machinery more efficient and less burdensome than Louis XIII's.
